The buy-in is live on Facebook. Your announcers are Excalibur and Taz joined by NJPW’s Kevin Kelly. Our first match is Hirooki Goto and YOSHI-HASHI vs. QT Marshall and Aaron Solo. Poor Goto has to fly all the way from Japan to wrestle a couple of jobbers in a glorified Dark match.

When the fans are popping huge for a YOSHI-HASHI hot tag, you know this crowd is amped up to see any Japanese wrestlers live. Goto predictably pins Solo in a decent, short match. We have both American and Japanese ring announcers, which is a nice touch.

The next Dark match is Lance Archer, representing NJPW in this case, vs. Nick Comorato. Comorato is a big guy with a good look and has been around a long time now, not sure why AEW never gives him a push. Just too crowded a rister I guess to develop anyone.

I’ve always liked Comorato, like you said he has a great look and I think they could do something with him.

We have our first competitive match as El Desperado and Yoshinobu Kanemura take on Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland. NJPW really should go 3-0 here though given their history as a team.

Damn, that was a really good match and the crowd loved it. Lee and Swerve get the win. I thought they would lose and further their break-up story. After the match, Powerhouse Hobbs and Ricky Starks cut a promo on them from the skyboxes.

Last pre-show match is Yuyu Uemura, DKC, Alex Coughlin, and Kevin Knight vs. Billy Gunn, the Gunn kids, and Max Caster. Caster cuts his usual hilarious rap that involves the dojo kids washing Shibata’s balls and watching hentai. Danhausen makes fun of the Ass Boys and they run off to make this a 4-on-2, at least to start.

Billy Gunn and Caster win what became a handicap match in pretty easy fashion against the dojo trainees with Gunn getting a monster pop for his offense at the end, including the Fame-asser. The pre-show ends AEW - 2, NJPW - 2.

The main show begins with Jericho, Guevara, and Suzuki vs. Kingston, Yuta, and Umino. Jericho and Suzuki both got their sing-along entrances. Crowd is on fire before anyone even locks up.

Jericho pins Umino with the Judas Effect in a really great opener that the fans made better. The Kingston-Suzuki confrontation was treated like Hogan-Andre and was awesome.

I caught the second half of this and thought it was ok, are they doing this to send FTR to NJPW for awhile or do you think they are going to drop the IWGP titles in short order?
