It seemed like there was some interest generated from the other thread about "complete" arena results. I'll start putting up all my Olympic Auditorium stuff here. I researched most of this myself when Ron was kind enough to let me borrow his newspaperarchive.com account. However, tons of credit goes to Steve Yohe, J. Michael Kenyon, Ron Witmer, and clawmaster who all directly gave me results to help fill this stuff in. I started from late January 1954 because the nearest I could tell this is the time the Eaton/Lebell faction took over operations. Anywho, here it goes. February 3, 1954 - Los Angeles, CA - Olympic Auditorium John Tolos beat Wilbur Snyder February 17, 1954 - Los Angeles, CA - Olympic Auditorium Television Tapings: Sandor Szabo vs. Lord Carlton February 24, 1954 - Franchise wrote: Is John Paul Henning any relation to Larry & Curt? He was not. John Paul's last name is Henni(n)g not Hennig. To make it even more confusing, there was another well known old timer named Bulldog Lee Henning who I don't think was related to John Paul.

GREAT stuff WongLee ~ I can't find this kind of thing anywhere else. Love the Bockwinkle listings from the 1950s. A couple questions I notice in the early 60s there are "AWA Title defenses" by Fred Blassie - is that the "WWA" or was there some schmoz where for awhile in LA, Blassie had that recognition? This is from 10-27-61 AWA Title Match: About when did Mil Mascaras begin to get the ball rolling in LA?

(It was announced that Bearcat Wright had been stripped of the WWA World Title for failure to appear for a title defense versus Ed Carpentier in Indio, California on 12-16-63. The truth is he was probably stripped of the title on December 13 when after trying to hold up the promoter for more money, he double crossed Blassie instead of dropping the belt. Following the match, Gene Lebell went after Wright in the dressing room. Wright left with the championship belt, but later returned it to its true owner, Lou Thesz. It‘s believed to be the same belt that Thesz took to Japan in 1992.. Carpentier was declared new WWA World Champion) December 25, 1963 - Los Angeles, CA - Olympic Auditorium Television Tapings: Mummy over Oscar Alvarez Nikita Mulkovich beat Nick Kostopoulis Kintaro Oki & Mr. Moto beat Fritz Von Goering & Art Mahalik Ed Carpentier beat Steve Stanlee Dick Hutton beat Bobby Duranton

The AWA title which was the one that evolved out of Carpentier beating Thesz in 1957, the NAWA which was what the belt was called when Carpentier dropped it to Blassie, and finally the WWA title which was considered a legit worlds heavyweight championship. You'll start seeing Mil when we get up to 1968.
