No Emile Dupre then started Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling which the Cormier's eventually worked for. You can see a few of the beginning cards that Dupre promoted in the '77 results. Look at some of the later Stellarton, NS shows.

8/7/77 Stellarton, Nova Scotia
Handicap match
Man Mountain Dean vs Paul Peller & Cuban Assassin
Emile Dupre & Johnny Fargo vs Alaskan & UFO
Tom Thumb vs Farmer Brooks

8/28/77 Stellarton, NS
Man Mountain Dean & Emile Dupre vs Paul Peller & Cuban Assassin
Alaskan vs Ray Stevens
Johnny Fargo vs Jim Kelly
Judy Mansfield & Marie LeVeau vs Susan Green & Princess Little Dove

I've got a question now. Above is that THE Ray Stevens?
Claw do you have any of his results from this time frame?
It seems I might of seen that card listing before and already asked this question a few years ago as something about it is familiar with me, but I can't remember if it was indeed him or not.

Here's another Emile Dupre show from Truro, NS:

8/31/77 Truro, NS @ Stadium
Handicap match
Man Mountain Dean vs Cuban Assassin & Paul Peller
The Alaskan vs Emile Dupre
Johnny Fargo vs Jim Kelly
Judy Mansfield & Marie LeVeau vs Susan Green & Princess Little Dove

No clue on Ray Stevens. I'll see if KM has the answer. I know next to nothing about this territory.

That card seems to be one of the first cards Emile Dupre started promoting as Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling. The other two promotions...the big ones at that time were Al Zinck's International Wrestling, which was the main territory in the area for years and the Cormier's start up Trans Canada which just ran for that year I believe.
This is a few years before I was old enough to get into wrestling. My earliest memories are of the next season when The Poffo's were there.
Do you have Ray Stevens results for that time frame Claw to see where he was wrestling during that month in '77?
Was he wrestling mainly for the AWA or San Francisco at that time?
I would think Sniper Niles, Fan70's or AbeTheNewsBoy might know better what was going on at that time as they are older than I am and were watching during the 70's.

*EDIT: Here's a good article I found written by Greg Oliver that talks a little about the promotional war of '77.

How often did they step over the border into Maine?

When i was doing research into Maine for my billy Graham record book...  I think I remember savinga  clipping from Maine that belonged to this territory.  I will have to make a mental note and go looking for it.

I don't remember them ever going to Maine, but I'm not saying they ever did either. The main loop was located in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.
Newfoundland was another territory altogether and the regular guys from the Maritimes territory (the Cormiers) never wrestled over on NFLD.
I'm sure they might have down spot shows in Maine though. They used to work the town of St.Stephen which is right on the border of New Brunswick and Maine at one of the major border crossings.

Ray had turned babyface in the AWA at the beginning of 1977. Great turn involving Heenan's manager of the year trophy involving Lanza, Duncum, Bock and of course Heenan. But for whatever reason, what happened after the turn wasn't that interesting. Similar to the Larry Hennig face turn a few years earlier in that regard.
