I am wondering if anyone knows why, and how, or what all the numbers mean in these clipping results from Australia. I have a friend who is getting these for me, she is in college in Australia. It is for the Baron Mikel Scicluna record book I have been working on. So of course I need his Australia dates. So she is getting her feet wet researching Sydney. Then if she is ok doing this, she will do other cities that we have no results for. Someone from the UK will know for sure but I think those numbers signify the weight of each wrestler.

Ron, Did clip corner give you his East Texas results for 1970? Scicluna is there for the first half of 1970. He is known in the clippings as Ripper Secuna, Ripper Sicluna, Ripper Secluna and Ripper Scicluna. Gotta love clippings. Scicluna was also in Florida during 1974 and 1975. RVK has a ton of Baron's listings in his Florida Mat Wars books. If you haven't received that stuff from our two researcher friends, I can give the listings to you. I have them typed out.

I think the numbers are won-loss records of the wrestlers. Perhaps 1 - 0 means it was a one fall match. Sorry Claw for sneaking into your forum. Last edited on Wed Oct 24th, 2007 02:47 pm by lobo316 |

The weight thing, if you talking about the numbers like (15, 10) in brackets, may be the British system of measure. Like 15 stone, 10 ounces. Not sure if the Aussies use the same system for weight measurement but that's the best guess i can come up with. The reason I am thinking this is look say at.. Baron Scicluna's numbers. June 14th 19-0 June 21st 19-0 June 28th 19-0 July 6th 19-0 July 13th 19-1 July 20th 19-0 July 27th 19-0 I do believe it must be a formula for their weights.

Australia used imperial weights until the early 70s and then changed to metric 16 ounces = 1 Pound 14 pounds = 1 stone example 19 -0 would be 267 pounds.
