"Jim Melby might have something about this indy promotion in his book Gopherland Grappling. I'll break the book out tonight and see if it has any info." After much searching, I finally found the book under a pile of newsletters. It was a small independent promotion that ran opposite of Tony Stecher in St. Paul. It seemed to dissolve during 1953 when Man Mountain Dean Jr and others jumped to Stecher's NWA member promotion.

There's more Champ Thomas stuff in Colorado during 1961. I was actually looking for Dick The Bruiser listings in Colorado by using the search term Bruiser on the newspaper archives site and stumbled upon a promotion that not only used Champ Thomas but Vic The Bruiser as well. I didn't look at any of the clippings but it appeared Tom Zaharias was the promoter. This promotion was running opposition to Barnett & Doyle in Colorado at the time. I may look at those clippings in the future. I may not. If anybody else wants to, go ahead.
