Working through 1967 results and found this: May 11, 1967 in Amarillo, North American Champion Dory Funk, Jr. defeated Dr. Bill Miller to win the US Heavyweight Title. The NWA had stated that the loser's title would be abolished. Was Miller's title a gimmick or a real US Heavyweight Title, and if so, which one? As far as I know, Amarillo didn't recognize a US title.
