"Yeah, I definitely noticed changes," Murphy's sister Cathy said. "He was starting to do erotic things."

I think she meant erratic, but if not that’s another plus to him living with khawk.

What's strange is that he still receives a pension of at least 60k a year, so not sure why he can't afford at least a small apartment, unless he chooses not to.

Because he’s mentally ill or brain-damaged. Almost no one who’s honelsss is that way because of money. That’s a huge misconception.

Being homeless in Northern Ontario with its 358 days of brutal winter must be tough. I hope khawk can help.

Pretty sad story. Bad feeling that it won't be long until the reports come in that he's dead.
Most definitely he's got some brain damage or something neurological going on just by the way he moves and talks.
Suffering some PTSD as well I'd say.

Was Murphy part of the "Kid Line" with the Oilers? I know Adam Graves was one of said players, can't remember who else.

Head injuries are a mother fucker. Someone more knowledgeable on the subject can correct me but former steeler mike Webster’s story sounds kind of familiar.

This is such a sad story- I remember him well when he broke in with Detroit, with all the big expectations of the #1 pick. Had a hard time getting ice time behind Yzerman. Good video from TSN, I forgot about that hit from Burr.

I hope that this video can get him the help he needs, and that he'll take it!

He refused to sign with Detroit & was kind of a malcontent and then didn't live up to his expectations when he finally signed. Maybe they lowballed him. I don't remember the specifics and the Wings of that era were pretty cheap.

I remember him having some attitude issues in Detroit too, and now that you mention it, maybe that hit from Burr was sort of a "payback"??

The Red Wings cleaned house trading him with Petr Klima, & Adam Graves for hometown boy Jimmy Carson.

Klima and Probert had to be separated and Graves and Murphy had underachieved.

Carson was traded for Coffey. Coffey was dealt with Premieu for Shanahan, who was the key piece to their Stanley Cup years.

In both of those trades the Wings waaaaaaay overpaid, but it was worth it.
