This was interesting. If you go to this site, answer the questions (only takes a couple minutes) this tells you which candidates most closely match your views. I was surprised by the unknown that most closely matches my views and just as surprised by how far some of the better known names were down on the list.

Interesting site.  Don't know how accurate it is.  No third party candidates included so I got John McCain with a score of 44 and Rudy and Joe Biden tied for second at 37.  I despise McCain for not speaking out against Bush for years despite clearly hating him though.  That's gutless and "politics as usual".

These things don't really work for me as I'm not a Republican or Democrat and don't follow party lines.

What I'm concerned about is that former Libertarian Ron Paul (who's running as a Republican) only got a 22.  He's against stem-cell research, the line-item veto, and the privatization of social security?  WTF?

Mitt Romney - 45
Rudy Giuliani - 42
Joe Biden -     36
Jim Gilmore -   36
Obama -         35
John Edwards - 35
Hillary C -         35

Doesn't matter, since I won't be voting.

Disagree

Then the next two I got were Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton at 42!  That's funny considering I am an avowed Republican.

Ah, not to sound like PapaShango and get politically insane, but I just vote Republican based on simple economics.   I do find myself leaning further away from the more right-wing set that seems to dictate the parties actions these days.

Well Republicans aren't really Republicans anymore so if you're really thinking they'll save you tax dollars and support a smaller government you're barking up the wrong tree.  None of them will.  In 8 years Bush has lowered the capital gains tax slightly (mainly to help his buddies get richer off their stock options) and hasn't done a single other thing that he promised.  There's no fiscal reason to vote for a Republican.  Barry Goldwater ain't running anymore.
