Even though I'm not American, generally we have hosted more a late lunch here with my wife's family. This year though, with my wife having been in Malaysia for the last 4 weeks not back till Tuesday, and me having no interest in cleaning the place up for here family (in the midst of a new roof/windows/gutters and other house renovations) we're going to head over to a friends place for dinner instead. I haven't done this for years...so does it work where you bring a dish or two usually so the person hosting isn't stuck doing all the cooking?

I'm hosting for the first time in years, and by "I'm" I mean my wife will be cooking and I'll be drinking to get through the visit from my parents.

Going to the folks, been doing so for years

My favorite holiday...free food, lots of it, no gifts, days off of work, get to see family and friends and lots of peace and quiet

Kids are with mom this year. My buddy deep fries my turkey every year, which is truly the way to do it. Way crispier and juicier and no headaches. I'll watch football with the dog and make the kids "Gobbler" sandwiches with the leftovers when I see them.

My whole family is convening in Cleveland at my aunts but I won't be able to make it.

I am working this year (again), but when going over others houses for Thanksgiving, I usually brought an appertizer or 2 (like chips and dip or deviled eggs), a pie and some booze, it was always appreciated by the host, whom just had to concentrate on the main dinner

we are going to my wifes aunt's house. she is an incredible cook, and a better baker. she actually makes wedding and birthday cakes for a side gig.

best part-we will get there around 1:30 and be gone around 4:00! they just do not linger, which is fine with me.

also, all 3 football games should be enjoyable this year! really stoke fro seattle and san fran in the night game. gonna pull some tasty beers from the cellar and relax for the evening. truly my favorite holiday of the year, have a great day everyone.

I think it is nada for us. Wife has to work Thanksgiving. I may just lay around and do very little.
