I sell to IT decision makers and CFO's typically and use a couple of things to get my info on new accounts. Sometimes, the target isn't in there, and I have to resort to Linkedin.

I saw the title Chief Diversity Officer, which I've seen before, but got me thinking: How long has this been a title?

I heard it for the first time maybe 7 or 8 years ago, which isn't to say it wasn't a thing before that.  But most companies don't have one yet.  Mainly a few of the Fortune 500 companies and I guess it's catching on a little.  You need more money than you know what to do with than to hire a C-level executive to do this shit when it can easily be handled by any HR officer, and has been for decades.

Thanks. In this particular case, it's one of the 10 largest law firms in the US and one of the managing partners had this in their title. I'm thinking for the most part it's a bullshit title to clear things with the government.

An article from this week, The Problem With Diversity Training

"While diversity programs have not worked for minority students or employees, they have worked out quite well for a small subset of the population: The lawyers, bureaucrats, managers, and consultants who make up the burgeoning diversity industry."

I'm sure I'm not the only one on this board that chafes at the diversity related "training" that gets force fed to us.  At this point, the company should probably print grievance standings so that I know on that particular day to whom I need to kowtow.  Is it the muzzies?  The rug munchers?  BLM?  Chicks with dicks?  Beaners?  (It's never Ricers or Clip Tips, though, is it?)

KGB, that sentiment about who is profiting from it seems to make the loudest point.

Sounds like a brother-in-law job. (Or more likely, a sister-in-law job, as these useless positions usually go to women with liberal arts degrees)

No woman with a liberal arts degree ever got paid as much as these people, otherwise getting a liberal arts degree would actually be worthwhile.
