Other options being discussed by management include employees not taking public transit to work. Maybe they want us to hitch-hike.
We have numerous branches spread out over the city. So, no more working at one site & working at another location the next day.

Can you imagine if the TTC was forced to shut down?

I don't really understand it either unless they think the eventual supply disruptions are going to cause a long toilet paper outage.

I read an article about this. There are reasons. One is that people can't imagine what they would do if they ran out of toilet paper. Another is that toilet paper is such a large item. If one person has three packs, you can't miss it, so it makes you think about buying a lot yourself. And because they are such a large item, the shelves empty quickly and leave large empty spaces kn the shelves. The empty spaces make people think that the item is about to run out and go back to the first reason.

There's also the simple reason that you know you will eventually use all the toilet paper, even if there is no shortage.

We buy toilet paper by the case from Home Depot. There are 96 rolls to a case.

People with the virus are being quarantined. If it happens to you, you'll want lots of tp on hand. You never know how long you'll be quarantined.

There will be no fans during March Madness.

Getting back to the TP issue. In a pinch, couldn't you just take the dirtiest washcloth you've got in your drawer/closet/pantry and just use that and then wash the fuck out of it when done? In essence this is what you do with little kids.

I'd be more inclined to fill my grocery basket with pasta, soups, canned tuna, sardines, etc.

Uh oh...Never heard of this site but it would be interesting.

https://www.ewrestlingnews.com/news/major-update-on-the-possible-cancellation-of-wrestlemania-36?fbclid=IwAR2nxM7dtsiyjHWH_ttkMt_S9zJ49z2H2Q6J4aIa9X9QeBGkHgIzOkr-jF0#.XmjiboAzRA0.facebook

The Tampa, Florida city government will be holding meetings later this week to discuss the fate of several “major events” in their city due to coronavirus. Of course, one of those upcoming events is WrestleMania 36, an event where people from all over the world come to attend.

According to Ryan Bass of CBS Tampa, Mayor Jane Castor and city officials are scheduled to hold a meeting this Thursday to discuss the possibility of canceling or postponing “major” events in the city.

WWE issued a statement last week that stated they “remain committed to hosting WrestleMania at Raymond James Stadium on Sunday, April 5, and like other entertainment properties in the U.S., there are currently no plans to cancel or postpone our upcoming events.” It’s not up to WWE though as the city of Tampa, FL will make the final call and if they postpone or cancel “major events” like WrestleMania 36, WWE would be forced to comply. Obviously, things are touch and go at this point but as you’d imagine, there are many people within WWE who are extremely worried about what will happen at Thursday’s meeting.

I posted something similar from PWInsider yesterday. The local Tampa sites have certainly confirmed that these discussions are happening for many events, and WM is certainly one of them.

PWInsider:

Tampa, Florida Mayor Jane Castor was interviewed this afternoon by Drew Garabo on 102.5 The Bone FM in Tampa, Florida about the city's response to the coronavirus and how they would be handling large scale public events in the city, including next month's Wrestlemania 36 week.

Castor was immediately asked about Wrestlemania 36 and whether the events that week will still take place. Castor said they are still assessing the situation. They hoped to still hold it but they are still assessing.

They have a commission working on it and will be having a meeting tomorrow at 12 PM Noon to determine what they will do regarding the status of not just Wrestlemania, but all other large scale events in the city.

Castor said they anticipated they would have coronavirus cases in Tampa. The virus in most cases is like a mild case of the flu. The issue is the ease of the transmission. It's not if, but when it hit their city. They want people to have accurate information and to take steps to protect themselves and they'll be able to prevent the spread of the virus across Tampa and the country. She noted they now have the test kits they need now. She said she expects there will be more positives, but unless you are elderly or have additional health concerns that make you high risk, it will be like getting a mild case of the flu.

Castor noted the city's St. Patrick's Day festivities will take place as scheduled. She noted fans want to attend sports games, but they can always watch them on television when they are broadcast.

On balancing the health and well being vs. the economic windfall of Wrestlemania, Castor said the health and well being is important but she also has to look at the economic impact for those who need the paychecks that come with the economic positives of having a major event. It's a responsibility she takes seriously.

When asked who's final decision it would be, Castor said WWE can 'weigh in' but they locally would have the final call. That's why they are having the meeting tomorrow, so they can make the best informed decision and be on top of the latest information from the CDC and the State of Florida.

Pretty much every NCAA conference basketball tournament will be played with a handful of fans and "essential personnel" in attendance. Same with March Madness. In MLB, Seattle and Oakland may be forced to play their first homestands at their AZ training facility. The NBA is expected to announce tomorrow that the rest of the regular season will be played without fans. Tonight's Utah/OKC game was postponed when one of the players came down with symptoms.

IT'S. THE. FUCKING. FLU. Jesus.

Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson just announced that they have tested positive. They are in Australia filming an Elvis movie and are now under quarantine.
