He deserves a main page thread (I see Lobo already posted in the rubber room).
Krp is easily one of my favourite shows of all time, where I have watched each episode dozens of times over the years.  Such a great character, and his character wasn't as one dimensional as people would think.
The scene where Johnny convinces him Jennifer was a man that had a sex change operation, is so good (the full scene, not the syndicated one). Of course he had many other great scenes too.
p.s. as an avid krp fan, it irks me that whenever the show is brought up, the turkey episode is mentioned. Probably not even a top twenty episode.
RIP Herb

The Herb Tarlek character was definitely not, as you said, one-dimensional.  There were occasions where he was genuinely torn between the sleazy salesman who hit on women, and his responsibilities as a husband and father.  Granted, it didn't last as many seasons, but that's where WKRP was quite different than, say, Cheers.  In Cheers, every character became one-dimensional and did little more than throw out rim-shot quips.

What a crime that show was only on for four years. A lot of people discovered it after it was canceled including me. It was not a ratings winner because the network would move it around. Then the summer after it was canceled they left in one spot and the repeats started and it developed a big following. Herb was a classic. RIP Frank Bonner

The time slot changes for WKRP got so frequent that they had Loni Anderson cut a promo on that subject.

If they would have left it on Monday's, after MASH it would probably still be running.
