Day 1 was pretty amazing, but Day 2 was a weather nightmare. Multiple lightning delays and finally a cancellation of all the headliners. I will go into more detailed thoughts on each band later, but so far I have seen… Day 1 Bad Wolves Mammoth WVH Black Label Society In This Moment Five Finger Death Punch Kiss Day 2 Baroness Ministry Day 3 Nothing More John 5 Day 4 Crobot The Struts Halestorm Smashing Pumpkins Nine Inch Nails

Bad Wolves had just started when we got there and sounded terrible. Apparently some of their equipment was lost. I like them, but I prefer Tommy Vext on vocals. I know he is kinda a shit bag, drama queen, but the dude has pipes. We only heard 2 songs, including Zombie, which was good, but we were so far back it was not that fun.

Did the crowd show respect for KISS? That’s a tough spot for them to follow In this Moment and 5FDP. Not for any other reason than the fan base of those two bands is much different than the fan base that KISS plays to. Also, did people start acting like raging assholes when all the headliners cancelled yesterday or did they understand the situation?

I’m following this on Facebook and people make it sound like a worse time than 9/11. Lol. This happens every single year. May is not a good month in Florida to do this. In addition to weather, Megadeth got stuck in Canada (COVID restrictions?) and no-showed and Bad Wolves had the aforementioned equipment issues that caused their set to be cut by 20 minutes and I heard the sound guy just cut their sound when they started to go over and they basically got thrown off stage. Then all the headliners got canceled after everyone waited through 2 rain delays, so Day 2 seemed like a complete bust. I’m heading to the MMR*B*Q in Camden right outside Philly today. Just 1 day, 1-11pm. Disturbed, The Pretty Reckless, Royal Blood, and Living Colour are the top 4 acts. Not a tremendous lineup but for $25 not bad. Of course today will be out first 100 degree day on the east coast and it will be miserable. At least a couple of the bands on this bill are coming straight from Rockville I believe.

Yes, Kiss was given proper respect. Paul tends to ramble between songs but the crowd ate it up. They sounded great. I did not see anyone throwing a fit. Honestly, the rain was miserable and cold and after sitting under the stands for hours I was ready to go. Sucks as I was looking forward to seeing Korn, but the lightning was really bad. Right on top of us. My opinion, they did everything they could to pull it off.

Kiss went on after 5FDP on the stage on the other side of the track. By the time I got over there, Kiss had already played a couple songs. I was probably 200 yards away and could barely see them. They do have 2 big screens on either side that you can watch. The crowd for Kiss was a sea of people. The went on last so no one else was playing.

Forgot….Tonight’s headliner is Guns and Roses. They are scheduled to play 2.5 hours. By far the longest scheduled set.

Rockville has already posted a warning that they are expecting more inclement weather and evacuations today, but right now doors are still opening on schedule. Could be a rough day.

I really dislike Royal Blood and couldn’t get into them at all. $25 is for the lawn. You can sit anywhere you want for the first 4 bands, but then you get kicked out to the lawn and assigned seating starts for the 4 main acts. 95 degrees but other than that no complaints. 3rd time I’ve done this festival.
