I was randomly scrolling through Facebook and I saw this. How sad, the shootings have turned into a monthly thing, as you could hardly digest the last one before someone else happens. Hearts and prayers to the families of all the victims.

Break out the thoughts and prayers, then the outrage, then the finger pointing, conspiracies, second amendments etc. give it a couple weeks then Elon does something whacky and everyone forgets about Uvalde til the next mass shooting. Rinse and repeat. If Sandy Hook didn't change things, this won't either. Americans are a fucked up bunch.

Expect more calls for arming teachers and/or placing armed guards in classrooms. Turn the schools into an environment that more closely resembles a detention center than a place for learning. Until you end up with a teacher or armed guard taking out a classroom.Of course, the arguement then will be to add another armed guard to watch the first one. I always feel bad at how little I'm shocked when I hear these stories from America (and they are virtually all from America). This is not unusual, it has happened many times before, it will happen again,and I'm not sure if anything of any note has been done to try prevent it. Guns are not the only problem. But without the guns there's a lot less damage that can be done. Another community devastated, another news cycle, then it will be forgotten by most people until the next one.

I'd say ban all the guns tomorrow if I truly believed it would solve the problem. I'd even say "Let's just give it a chance" if I didn't know it would make things worse like prohibition always does. America is fundamentally damaged for this stuff to keep on happening and I don't think there's a solution except a complete culture change that could take decades.
