Ted Cruz says the problem was there were not any armed officers at the school and there wasn't any bullet proof glass. That's the problem. Not guns. Lol

What would you change to increase the difficultly to obtain?

Stop making it legal to buy a gun in a private sale or at a gun show with no background checks. Now I'm not ignorant to the fact that at times, people would skirt around the issue, but as it stands now, any shitbag can buy a gun unchecked at these shows, so there's no need for criminals to find guns illegally and put time and effort into doing so when they can buy it easier than baby formula.

I could see barring private sellers from conducting business at a gun show or just eliminating gun shows all together being a reality. Private sales in general would be difficult to track without a national gun registry which gun owners and the politicians they vote for would never go for.

Ted Cruz came out against unlocked school doors today. He is so brave. He is getting closer to the problem I guess.

Newt Gingrich thinks they should pay teachers more money who are willing to use and carry a gun to protect their students. that's the answer. More guns. Gun toting school teachers.

The response so far of the GOP once again proves that they aren't pro-life, just pro-birth.

Having lived in the United States for 30 some years and having lived in Taiwan for the last 10, people's penchant for violence in both places are really not that different. The difference is access to guns. Of course, a lot of violent crimes in Taiwan involves knives and other kinds of weapons because they can't get to gun as easily.

Apparently, the guy made his way THROUGH the police on the way in. What the fuck makes people think that arming teachers is the answer?

It's Ted Cruz's masturbatory fantasy of the chick from "Hot For Teacher" with an Uzi mowing down the bad guys.  I know plenty of teachers through my wife.  Arming them would be comical if it wasn't so tragic.  Although I suppose they couldn't be any more inept than the police.  They'd probably only accidentally kill half the kids instead of all of them.

The balls that Alex Jones still has, even on the brink of ruin and being sued into oblivion over his Sandy Hook comments, is really incredible.  He was more careful this time, refusing to say this was a false flag like Sandy Hook, instead egging on his listeners by attempting to be more careful saying things like "the timing is suspicious" with mid-term elections coming up (some elections are ALWAYS coming up).  I don't know if there is anyone on the planet who could be more vile than Jones, even school shooters themselves.  By now he is fully aware and has been forced to admit that Sandy Hook didn't involve "crisis actors" and that he has been mercilessly trolling parents whose children were murdered in an attempt to stroke his listeners, and he doesn't care and is going to try to more subtly do it to a new group of parents.  His entire defense is based solely on a First Amendment right to say things he knows are awful and untrue, but there's no pretense that he even thinks he's right.  Quite the contrary, the defense seems to be that he's so wrong that a reasonable person couldn't even think he's right, but of course his fans aren't reasonable people.  How has someone not just shot him in the head at this point?  If it was my child, I'd be so grief-stricken I'd be ready to kill myself anyone and would gladly take out Jones first.

So cops stayed outside for 40 minutes with parents begging to let them rescue their kids while shots went off. Good look there LEO

I just saw it.  There are no depths to which cops won't sink and no situation they can't make worse.  They're as responsible as the shooter for what happened.  They were shivering with fear until the SWAT Team arrived to handle it, and took out their frustration on the parents, physically assaulting one.  The cowardice and incompetence would be stunning if it wasn't so routine.  It's impossible not to think that since most of the LEO on the scene were border patrol agents that they just didn't want to risk their lives over the Mexican kids they routinely shoot at anyway, but the truth is that they're so cowardly I doubt they would even risk their lives for their own kids, who they regularly beat.

This is the issue with the narrative that only cops should have guns.  Cops often are the least responsible with guns, and the most cowardly.  The only time a cop should ever have a gun is when one is pointed at his head by an outraged citizen.  And I'll reiterate again that the 2nd Amendment is specifically designed not to hunt or protect yourself from a crackhead or crazy person, as Republicans often say in misguided talking points.  It exists for the sole purpose of using against armed authority figures who in modern times would be cops, military, and the politicians who control them.  If you don't believe in shooting bad cops when they need it, you don't believe in the 2nd Amendment.  This is why no Republican actually believes in the 2nd Amendment, nor does their gun lobby wing the NRA, which now is just an extension of that party.  And Democrats have to have split personalities to speak out against police shootings and then turn around 5 seconds later and say that only cops should have guns.  Idiotic.
