I **think** the only thing the two songs share is the title and that means nothing. If she had used any of his lyric or melody then he might have a chance. https://improvesongwriting.com/two-songs-same-name/ The article does say that in some instances the title in and of itself may be unique enough to warrant copyright protection but in this case, it would be the other way around if he had come out with his song after hers. He obviously hasn’t had the amount of success as she did.

It's actually Vince Vance & the Valiants, who I've never heard off. Was going to ask if Vince valiants ever tagged with any of the other Valiants or if he was just a fake valiant like Ricky Vaughan was a fake Von Erich.

I remember the Vince Vance & The Valiants' "All I Want for Christmas is you" quite clearly. It was a pretty big seasonal hit on the Country charts for several years in the 90's - starting with 1993, which was the year before Mariah Carey's version came out. The record is actually quite good - the (female) lead vocalist voice reminds me just a touch of Brenda Lee. And she's quite pretty, too. I remember people thinking Vince Vance was actually Pee Wee Herman. (Watch the video, and you'll see what I mean.) Oh, and Vince Vance is in the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame.
