From my perspective, the free shipping on Amazon Prime is the good part of the deal.  The only thing we've watched on their streaming service is The Shield, all the other stuff they offer that I'd want to watch costs money per episode.  I have had Netflix streaming for a few years now and they have by far more items to stream.  Different, but more.

With all that said, if you are quitting cable at $100+ per month, a $79 per year investment in Prime plus a $8 investment per month in Netflix comes to be about an $85 per month savings and that alone makes it worth getting both.
