One Fan Gang

I recall Animal saying something to that effect on the LOD DVD. After they lost the tag belts to Jimmy Garvin and Steve Regal, they had put themselves in position to write their own ticket between AWA, Japan and JCP with Ellering getting the best value he could schedule for them.
Garvin himself talked about his initial appearances for JCP in 1986 and being razzed by Tully's and Flair at that point for not taking an offer to start with them a year prior, saying he thought he was "too good" for them. It sounded like a rib in that Garvin financially wound up making less money through that choice. it may have been ribbing on the square and the kind of jab that was a subtle way to emphasize that better talent overall was coming to JCP.
