This and that...

Working on the remainder of the December 1986 World Championship Wrestling Sat Night episodes.

The 12/20/86 edition has a pretty good interview with Ivan Koloff who runs down Nikita for hooking up with Dusty. The turn happened several weeks ago, but the one thing that bothered me is that they didn't spend a ton of time with Ivan addressing it. There was a short angle a couple of weeks back where Nikita clotheslined Krusher in the ring. Anyway, Ivan does a hell of an interview and at the end lays this down: "Remember the NAME, Vladimir Pietrov!"

The 12/27/86 episode has a significant moment. Jim Crockett calls out Ronnie Garvin to the podium and makes him choose between the US Tag belts or the Mid-Atlantic title. He has to give one up. Only allowed to hold one "major" title at a time. Garvin picks the newly one US Tag belts but puts over the importance of the Mid-Atlantic belt. Crockett takes it and says "the disposition of the Mid-Atlantic title will be determined at a later time". Never see the thing again.

"Well, maybe I like the nightlife just a little bit more than I like the damn gym, jack! And when you're makin' $500,000 a year, there ain't no reason to change what you're doing." - Dusty Rhodes, 1/4/1986
