We really should make a thread one day debunking the many wrestling myths (results related) that still persist. David is 100% to put a big asterisk next to Flair's first match. Sometime around the early 90s, people started filling in a lot of gaps in wrestling history with guesswork. Mostly 70s and 80s history. This is a period that was avoided by the serious wrestling historians, and suffers from a decline in wrestling coverage in newspapers, allowing charlatans to jump in with guesswork, kayfabe and the decidently unreliable source of the wrestlers themselves. This Flair record is very comprehensive, but is missing many of the thousand matches Flair says he had against Steamboat, for instance.
