Melter says that the original plan was for Andrade to confront Omega at the end of Slammiversary instead of Jay White, but they couldn’t come to financial terms. The angle would’ve seen the Andrade-Omega build for Triplemania play out on Impact since AEW has no interest in furthering that storyline, and Impact would’ve heavily promoted AAA. With the deal dead, it was decided that Impact would instead help promote the White-Finlay match that crosses over with NJPW, and also tease a Bullet Club civil war between White and Omega in the process, which could continue in AEW and NJPW down the line. White lives in Florida when he’s in the U.S. and was asking for less money to appear.

This thread was great before AA ruined it.
