Who were they?  I'm not talking about football player who wrestled a few matches, but guys who actually were good NFL players and were wrestlers.  Not guys who were drafted but never played.  Not guys who made the roster, but rarely played, but good NFL players.

Who else besides Wahoo?

Ernie Ladd, Bronko Nagurski, and Wahoo are probably the 3 best by far.

Curly Culp was an NCAA wrestling champion and was a great d-tackle with the Chiefs and the first great nose tackle in the 3-4 scheme with the Oilers.  He wrestled part time in the off seasons early in his career.

Jim Nance (sp?) was also a NCAA champion wrestler and league leading running back in the AFL who wrestled.

Alex Karras was a pro bowl d-tackle in the NFL with the Lions.

Otis Sistrunk started for many years with the Raiders before going into wrestling.

Russ Francis was a pro bowl tight end who wrestled during the offseason.

Perhaps it's nostalgia, but Steve McMichael isn't looking too bad on the 1999 stuff I'm converting to DVD.

Gus Sonnenberg (http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/S/SonnGu20.htm)
Doug Wycoff (http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/W/WycoDo20.htm)

B.F. Roller was a good college football player at DePauw in the days before the pros existed.

Wasn't Russ Francis's dad a wrestling promoter? Been so long ago, I can't remember.
