Just in the way the question is worded, Hogan. Brought in more dollars and more mainstream pub. Can't argue with cash and publicity.

Like him or not, Hogan. I went to a WWF house show in the late 80s that drew maybe 3500 people. They came back with Hogan two months later and sold out, 15,000+. He put asses in seats.

He (Hogan) was way too selfish though.

I think he "did for Hogan" and not necessarily for wrestling.

I agree with you that Hogan did what was best for Hogan, but he dragged the rest of the wrestling world to greater heights with him. More exposure=more money and while Hogan ate the biggest piece of the pie he made the pie huge.

Yeah, but he also helped popularize a physique-first system and thus massive steroid use, a major negative, to me. Would they have become so prevalent without him? It's entirely possible, but we know it happened with him.

They certainly would have come to prominence. Look who already had before Hogan became an established name. Ken Patera was already around. Graham. Tony Atlas. The movement had already started. Did he become the face of it, sure. Would someone else have though? Yes, absolutely.

Steroids and HGH found their ways into every sport, so they would have made it to wrestling with or without Hogan. The Road Warriors deserve some credit too.
