Just found out one of my high school class was yesterday arrested for raping a 5 year old. Another was arrested for for stealing $10,000 in gift cards from a local church last week. So you got any members of your class, makes you "proud" being in the class? |

I graduated with about 400 people in my class, and I can't recall any of them going to jail. The more fucked up ones have already contributed to the Soil Enrichment Project. |

Graduated in 1987 with 292 classmates. Graduated 1 year prior to this winner. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Chandler_Shrubsall Sad thing is, he was valedictorian of his class. Played hockey with him and never saw it coming. From my own class, nobody has gone crazy, but we have had a high number of people die. I think we have lost close to 20 people from varying ailments. |

I'm still friends with a bunch of classmates from junior high (I actually hang out with 3 of them on a regular basis), but I never kept in touch with a single person from high school. Even at the time, I had my own group of friends at different schools that I was closer to than any of my classmates. I went to a private high school and all my friends stayed in the public schools. Plus I skipped a grade so everyone in high school knew each other from freshman year (and usually from years of private school before that) and I came in as a sophmore, so it was tougher to break into those circles and make close friends instead of just acquaintances. Got along with them fine but just never had a desire to track them down and re-connect and I'd have to dig up my yearbook to even remember last names to search for them. Not my class, but the year below me...perhaps the most infamous individual to ever come from my high school was, along with his immediate family, a founding member of a Christian cult. About ten years ago, he starved his infant son to death, thinking "God would provide" or something, and then buried the body in a Maine state park. Last I knew, he was serving a long sentence in jail. This was surprising mainly because he was an all-American kid in high school: National Honor Society, captain of the soccer team, etc. The runner up from my high school was a classmate of the kid above. He too was in National Honor Society and was an unbelievable athlete. He played football in college and played with the Patriots for a few seasons, including the Super Bowl year against the Packers. He actually started a bunch of games for them during the '97 and '98 seasons. A couple years ago, long after his career was finished, he was busted with a hooker and heroin in his car. I was, to say the least, shocked. Again, this was just an all-American kid in high school. |

I am pretty sure I am older than anyone who has responded so far, so my class of roughly 400 has had its' share of suicides, death by natural causes, traffic, and being fairly rural, hunting accidents or drownings.....but the most noteworthy was some troubled kid who was prosecuted for some unsolved murder about 20 years after the fact based on dna evidence and a new forensics not available when the crime was committed. He was always the most feasible suspect, but they DA declined to prosecute due to the implications of double jeopardy. Some gal in my class went on to play cello with some bfd philharmonic. some guy is some bfd with the NRC and has some Ivy League degree in something like particulate physics, but both of them had no hesitation in getting out of town as soon as possible after high school. Come to think of it, neither did I. |

800+ in my graduating class. No pro athletes. One guy was a 4 year starter at offensive tackle for Notre Dame but wasn't drafted and didn't make the NFL. Mike Perrino [sic] was his name. One chick Jennifer Marchese directed some soft porn (Love Street) for Showtime. Another guy Kevin Samuels killed himself when we were seniors in high school. A good friend John Wroda was killed in a motorcycle accident a few years after we graduated from high school. I do keep in touch with some classmates. Played pinochle/watched a Hawks Playoff game with two of them earlier this year. Many are Facebook friends that I haven't seen in years. |

I believe I'm the youngest on the board. I graduated with 150, which was considered a huge class for us. I don't keep in touch, though I spy via Facebook. The last two years of politics have turned them all nutty. One classmate possibly got away with murder when he was high school. The kid's death was ruled a suicide, but no one really probed into it. On the whole though, pretty unremarkable group. Two classmates died before graduation. Three more died before they were 25. The boyfriend of one who died before graduation died a couple of weeks ago. He was a year older. Her death sent him spiraling and it's rumored that excessive drinking and drug use contributed to his death of heart problems. He was 30. The closest thing to a celebrity that attended high school at the same time as me is country singer Brent Browning. |

A funny topic for me considering the timing. I was home last weekend when I went to NYC for business and stayed through the weekend and made it a personal trip, since I didn't have my kids. My HS: The successful: Ben Bailey-host of "Cash Cab" was 2 years younger than me and I know him. He's exactly the same as he is on that show. A goofy guy who likes to have fun. Amy Sacco-the "elitist" Club Queen of NYC who owned Bungolow 8 and Lot61 was in my graduating class and ran with my crowd. They based a whole bunch of "Sex and the City" shit off her clubs. I remember her when she crashed her car listening to Sting and now she hangs out with him. She claims that she's not from NJ and it's completely hilarious. Her brothers are a bunch of huge guys and are cool and own a big moving company in my hometown, Chatham NJ. Dr. Robi: The shrink from the Larry King Show and Nancy Grace is the former Robi Shalotsky. I was friends with her and her two sisters. Really nice people. She was 3 years older than me. The bad: 3 people died in High School. They were killed in an auto accident in our town. 2 others survived but were fucked up for a long time after. I'm friends with both of the survivors on FB and was also with the 3 that died. That happened in 1984. The most fucked up part about it is that Dr. Robi's sister and I were out about 2 nights before that crash and we ran into the driver (we were too young to drive by about a year) and he asked us to go with him. Ramy (Robi's sister) is/was hot and we hopped in. This guy drove an old (1960's) Mercedes like it was a new Ferrari, and it didn't handle well. We went around the same crazy curve that they killed themselves on two nights later and Ramy looked in the back seat at me with total fear in her eyes. She and I both thought that Pete (the driver) was nuts. Two mornings later, I get woken up by a phone call by Ramy, who told me that those guys died. She said, you know that could have been us...... Very fucked up! I've had a few others die since. My really good, crazy friend named Mark got too large (350+ at 6'6") and died of a heart attack last year. I just found this out and was saddened to hear it. We have no serial killers, which actually surprised me. |

We had about 200 people in my senior class, and I can't for the life of me think of anyone that did anything bad to make the news or anything...my friend Jon is a nationally known comedian, so we actually had someone who LEGIT made us "proud", so I had the opposite deal. Also, I'd say I have over 100 of my senior class on Facebook and about 90 of them are friends, we have our 20 year reunion in October, it's gonna be a lot of fun. IMO I think stuff like Facebook and Myspace are great for taking the bullshit out of reunions, people that try too hard to be something they aren't, etc... |

Still very good friends with 6 guys and 2 ladies. We had a bigger group in high school but some moved far distances and 1 died young. As for the class as a whole there were about 600 in the graduating class. I know at least 8 who spent time in jail and at least 5 that died. I don't think we had any pro atheletes in my year although Matt Blundin and Joey Valerio (both with the KC Chiefs) grew up very close to me. They were 3 years behind me. My wife graduated with Tina Fey in 88. Fey was nice but a goth chick at that time. A little strange. I think Jamie Kennedy was in her class as well although she didn't know him. |

As far as people from my class, none of them really made it real big. I had 3 classmates have a cup of coffee in the NFL, one of them is now the football coach. One kid who was always into dance is now doing Broadway shows. He's one of the people who makes up any kind of large group scene. I found out via Facebook that one of the guys who was a burnout and once made out with another guy in the hallway is now a Jesus freak. Certainly there's no denial going on there at all, no sir. I graduated with about 130 and we had about 800-900 at the school (down from around 1200-1300 a couple of years earlier because of a base closure). In my class, the closest thing I can think of as celebs are my buddy and team mate Reggie Nelson, who was a 4 year starter and I-AA All American at OT for Mcneese St when they spent much of that time with the #1 national ranking and always lost in the semis or finals to (I think) Montana St. He was drafted by the Chargers and spent his 3 or 4 years of eligible practice squad time w/ the Chargers, Packers and Dolphins. Never made a regular season roster though. Also, I graduated w/ Tammy Nash who had a brief moment in the spotlight as an American Idol semi-finalist that almost made the final cut, but was an emotional wreck. She would break down and cry and freak out so the cameras honed in on her. She was like that in HS too. A real loose cannon w/loads of talent. Larry Ellis, from the same season of AI, was a Jr when I was a Sr. Went to HS with a few other pros: Juan Pierre was a year behind me. GREAT guy from a great family. Can't say enough good about him. I'm a huge fan. Craig Nall is a good friend. He was a freshman my sr year but we were tight because he's really tight with a group of little brothers of many of my friends. Him and Kyle Kipps would come to Lafayette and party with us during off time while they were at LSU. Chris Boniol, the Dallas and Philly kicker, was a star at our school when I was a freshman. His dad was my D-Line coach and DC for 4 years of high school. Eric Chew was a very successful I-AA WR at McNeese St and was drafted by the Texans. Made a couple of practice squads and preseason rosters. Nick Harris (S/LB) and Chris Brown (RB) of OU and now NFL both went to my school as well, but they are a good bit younger. As for notorious, a guy who was a childhood friend (but we figured out after a while that he was a loser and a creep) & HS classmate got convicted of fiddling a 9 year old girl. SEVERAL have died of drug related causes and a number of the black kids I went to school with were shot and killed. Some before graduating. The star running back of our crosstown rivals (and former pro baseball player), Darryl White, was convicted of being a local serial rapist. He'd do CRAZY things to his tied up victims while masturbating on them and violating them with weapons and such. Last edited on Fri Aug 13th, 2010 07:07 pm by BayouBoogie |
