I think the same mentality that causes the "working class" to see this guy as a "working class hero" is the reason why they're "working class" in the first place. Lack of common sense and good judgment and not even the intelligence to see that there's no reason to identify with this guy at all since most of them probably work twice as hard (not saying being a flight attendant can't be a pain in the ass, but he's not working in the salt mines either so let's keep things in perspective here) and CAN'T quit because they have no other options and have to keep food on the table for their kids. But they celebrate this schmuck, who, at least in the very short term (maybe a week or 2) will probably make some money off of being unprofessional. Exactly what the fuck is a "working class hero" anyway, other than a pretty good John Lennon song that Green Day did a nice cover of? Unless you have a trust fund or married a rich old guy, everyone's working, some harder than others and for more or less money, but knock off the platitudes. It's bullshit. There are people making a few hundred thousand a year who work 12 hour days every day to make that money, and they wouldn't be considered "working class" to the guy working 4 hours a day at Wal-Mart. He's "Stone Cold Steve Austin" at the workplace. He got sick of the bullshit and told everyone to fuck off. So that's why he's a "hero". Everyone has wanted to do this at one time or another. It just isn't accepted and it isn't smart and this guy didn't make millions of dollars off of doing this and is a bad move for him personally. Good luck finding work anywhere else where there are little things called "customers".

And he didn't even tell off his mean old bosses, the corporate fat cats who got rich off of his hard work while he toiled away in his thankless job. There's actually no reason to believe that JetBlue wasn't very good to him for the 20+ years that they made him his living and as a reward he quits his job like this. He just had to deal with one too many annoying customers. Guess what douche? That's what flight attendants have to do. It's the job. Yeah, customer service positions suck. So don't take that kind of job. Problem solved.

Working Class refers to people that sweat all day while working. They build things. The use tools. They don't sit in front of computers and have hours of time to post on message boards. And the fact that I had to explain that to you...Shows just how isolated your world view is.

So now the guy is begging for his job back and his lawyer is talking about his "deep love of the aviation industry". And, oh yeah, they interviewed a couple dozen passengers from the flight and no one can confirm his story that a woman hit him in the head or cursed at him. The consensus now is that he just wigged out. I just hate it when heroes let you down. Well, he had a nice 3 day run.
