from the Torch:

at a house show in Hawaii:

(2) Nexus (Skip Sheffield & Otunga) defeated WWE tag champions Hart Dynasty (Tyson Kidd & D.H. Smith w/Natalya) in a non-title match. The finish came when Tyson Kidd attempted a springboard jump, but was nailed with a lariat by Sheffield. After the match, Sheffield laid face down in the ring with an apparent leg injury. He had to be helped out and could not put any weight on his left leg.

How will this affect the Nexus angle if he's out injured?

Depends how bad he's hurt. If it's just a muscle pull they can just have him look menacing while Barrett talks (like he's doing now mostly), if it's serious they can have him get punked out of Nexus and then give him a monster face push when he returns.

I think it would be cool if they said his leg was hurt.

...or if he worked around it.

Lol, I'm with you on that, but I kinda see them doing what sek69 said, if he's seriously hurt and out for awhile...giving him the big face push when he gets back.
I don't think it would be a good idea, just think that is something the WWE would do. I really see this guy as a total monster heel for the time being anyway...until he gets to a main event level and gets 'heeled out' at that level anyway...if he ever does. I would like him to get there as I really enjoy him. He reminds me of Snitsky, but a version who can actually get over to the point where he could be a main event player for years to come if he's able to improve as he gets more ring time. Let's cross our fingers first though eh?

I doubt they have any intention of turning him face anytime soon since they've done a great job developing him as a powerhouse heel and his psycho expressions are awesome.  They just need to keep him standing around looking mean until he recovers.  I doubt it'll be a big deal unless he has to be out 6-8 months or something.  It's not like most of Nexus wrestle on TV often anyway, although they've started to wrestle more lately.

Put him in a wheelchair, have Otunga wheel him down to ringside, and then have Skip yell at whomever is facing Nexus. Then, whenever the opponent falls out of the ring, have Otunga run with the wheelchair to Skip can clothesline the guy, and then go back to running his mouth.

He strikes me as a younger, less sloppy version of Batista. WWE seems to think so too, I can see him being in the same role Dave was when he left.

Holy fuck...That was the first time I heard him do that catchphrase. That was ridiculous. Was that the only time he did it, or was it how he ended every promo he did?
Fuck we can only pray they keep him heel now so we don't have to hear that shit ever again.

BTW amerorig, what's up with the  "Haku Appreciation Day?"
August 30 is only about a week and a half away...How do we celebrate and what's the story behind it?
I think I'm the first person whose bit on this so far here at S&W am I?

I also preferred the King Tonga name to the many handles Tonga has gone with throughout his career. Just thought I'd throw that out there.
Maybe that should be part of the festivities on the 30th. Open a poll with the question being "What was your favorite name used by Tonga 'Uli' Uli Fifita?"
DO IT!!!

Bobby Heenan, on the Prime Time Wrestlings leading up to the first Summerslam, Bobby declared that King Haku could not be on the card due to "Haku Appreciation Day" on the Isle of Tonga.

Big J and I felt that we should honor the day by joining in on the celebration.

Sucks to be Skip, latest WO update:

The word from the Raw crew is that Skip Sheffield suffered a broken left ankle last night in a tag team match in Honolulu and will be out of action for some time.  The timing for his career almost couldn't possibly be worse.

You know, It may help him in the long run. If the angle tanks soon, it may help him to be fresh when he does return.

Hopefully they do an in jury angle with Daniel Bryan to give him some more steam and set up a feud when he returns.

I don't see Sheffield moving into a Batista-like role.  He doesn't have Batista's look.  Jug-eared doofus doesn't scream killer heel to me, but your mileage may vary.
