Best change of that sort of persona was Dustin Rhodes -> Goldust.

i got that the first Doink was Borne. just the way he moved tipped it for me.

i never did figure out that they changed guys, though, until I read it online.

Bubba-War Machine

The big giant Goatee coming from War Machine's mask was a dead giveaway. That, and His big Fat Belly.

I always had a sneaky suspicion it was Shohei Baba due to the strong resemblance that him and Giant Machine had in regards to their arm size. I guess Bobby Heenan was right after all.

As for the other two Machines, Super and Big, it bugged me that I couldn't place them right away. I knew they were real familiar(the tattoo and voice), but couldn't figure it out in time before Pro Wrestling Illustrated let the cat out of the bag in the next issue after they debuted that it was Mulligan and Eadie. Same deal with Ax of Demolition. It was on the tip of my tongue, but didn't figure it out in time before PWI gave him up.

Had no idea on all 3.  Thought Giant was Baba, maybe, but wasnt sure.

No clue that Lynn Denton became the Grappler. Saw him as Denton in 82 with JCP at MLG. Two years later he's there as part of the Grapplers.

Cpl Kirschner becoming Leatherface

Jerry Stubbs as Mr Olympia initially

Keichi Yamada, saw him in Stampede for a while in the late 80's, no clue at the time he became Liger

Same thing when Koji Kanemoto became Tiger Mask 3
or when Yoshinari Asai became Ultimo Dragon

No clue that "Trooper" Del Wilkes was the Patriot

Didn't know that Brad Armstrong was Badstreet/Fantasia

I don't recall anyone caring about your true identity.  So-based on that, yes-you are the best.

Most times, the pull of the masked man was to find out who was under the mask. Once in awhile, a guy would come along that was so over that nobody cared who was under the mask.  That could possibly apply to you.

Didn't the Grappler wrestle in JCP in 81?  Before he returned to Mid-South he was in JCP as the Grappler, right? Or maybe early 82? I've got a couple of matches with him from Mid-Atlantic TV from around 81, in between Mid-South runs.
