How could Atlanta possibly be in the top 10? That makes this shady from the get go.

Pittsburgh is a small-market town, but placing Phoenix and Dallas above The Burgh is atrocious. We do not have the NBA, and we have a minor-league basbeall team which still draws suprisingly. The Steelers and Penguins sell out every game. This is list belongs on the toilet paper holder in the shitter.

Ypsilanti gave Detroit that last push into the Top 10 it needed. Viva Eastern Michigan athletics!

I think The Sporting News ranks this based on how well the teams are doing and it has nothing to do with fans. At least I remember it being that way when I used to get TSN years ago.

That makes more sense, but when I hear of good "sports cities" I'm also thinking of knowledgeable, passionate fans. 5 out of the top 6 listed qualify, but L.A. not so much.

The Chick-Fil-A Bowl has great attendance, and the SEC Championship Game is in Atlanta every year. The city has a representative in all of the Big 4 sports, is home to an ACC school, essentially a home away from home for an SEC school, hosts a major NASCAR race, and hosted the PGA's Tour Championship this year.

I'm actually surprised LA made it at No. 3 with no NFL franchise.
