Pretty sure The Graduate was Randy Poffo; was provided this info by George Hill Crybaby Edwards. Later ads from same promotion showed The Graduate to be unmasked as Jim Pride in November 1973; At this time Pride and Randy Poffo were of similar size and build so both could have worked as The Graduate.

Though I am presenting all the matches I am in no way responsible for the research which went into getting all these. I have been compiling for about 10 years thru the results threads on KM message board , Ga Wrestling history site (1977 Savage) , Mid Atlantic Gateways ads, Google News Archives searches for lots of smaller Mid Atlantic cities, Scott Teals history of Nashville(?) , lThe Florida site of MOTH, ots of help from clawmaster and clipcorner of course, and basically putting them together in an organized (or disorganized fashion).

I did do hundreds of hours looking for ICW Poffo 1979-1985 ads from libraries , Terry Justice periodicals , paying librarians in WV, Illinois and Tenn to look up dates supplied to me by George Hill who worked for the Poffos Oct of 80 thru July of 1982.So I do have a personal pride in that time frame due to the effort exerted in the whole process.

Here is 1976 + 1977; if you have dates I'm lacking add as you wish.

Gulf Coast Tag Team titles Randy and Lanny Poffo vs. The British Bulldogs

Panama City Florida Rainbow Gardens Rocky McGuire promoter February 12 1976

Rip Tyler and Eddie Sullivan won a six man elimination tag team battle, Tyler defeated Lumberjack Luke and Randy Poffo beat Ted heath.
Duke Miller vs.  Angelo Poffo wasn’t listed in the results and the other teams in the elimination match were The British Bulldogs and Randy and Lanny Poffo.

Mobile, Alabama February 17, 1976

Gulf Coast tag champs Lanny & Randy (he became Randy "Savage" later) Poffo went to a no-contest with the heel English Bulldogs, Edward Heath & John Foley--some legit problems occurred during this match between the teams-later in the dressing room, Rip Tyler knocked Randy Poffo across the dressing room, from reports told by a those who were there. The 3 Poffo’s were fired on the spot, & they left the promotion that night. Not exactly the same story was related to me personally from Lanny Poffo.

Thought I would bump this to the forefront with recent news concerning Randy.

He was way better as a charactor before 1985 than after....trust me.

Eric,

Has Meltzer contacted you? You know more about Randy's early career than anybody else except maybe Lanny. I could put you in touch with Meltzer if you want.

I'm easy to find .In the phone book in Lexington Kentucky and everything.

Savage is still a legend in Kentucky where he wrestled from 1979 thru 1985 until he left for McMahonville and stardom. It was front page news in the Lexington Herald and the local sportsradio station had me as the first guest on the show yesterday afternoon.

I still get tons of stories from the smallest towns I travel to on my job about Randy's tenure in the state. He was extremely recognizable then in the early 80's and had an impact on everyone here.
