You get the pencil here. You can erase something that happened or an entire performance in a game that screwed your team out of a big game or championship. What would you change?

1992 Stanley Cup Finals, Game 1. I erase the performances of Mario Lemeiux and Jaromir Jagr in the third period, especially Jagr's game winning goal with 12 seconds left.

In it's place, I draw in a shut-down defensive performance by the Blackhawks where Pitt can't score. The Hawks win the game 4-2 and the momentum for the rest of the Finals is changed completely. The Hawks would have captured the Cup and I still wouldn't be waiting to see them win it 16 years later.

**sigh** thanks for depressing me so early in the day, Beej. :(

I'd yank Kerry Collins from the starting lineup of SB 35 and take my chances with a teenaged Chris Simms.

John Starks makes the 3 pointer at the end of game 6 of the 94 NBA finals.

My beloved Steelers quaterback Neil O' Donnell making two crucial pass completions to Cowboys corner Larry Brown that resulted in 14 Dallas points to give Dallas the nod in Super Bowl XXX.

1980 ~ Linesman (yes I said linesman) Leon Stickle blows on offsides call that allows Mike Bossy to score the game-winner/cup-winner for the Islanders over the Flyers

1975 Playoff game between the Vikings and the Cowboys erase the hail mary pass from Staubach to Preston Pearson .  That was the best of the 1970's Vikings team and the one that didn't make it to the Super Bowl.  I think they would have beaten the Steelers that year.  (Then I'd have to go back and fix that game as well)

Call that grounder foul that ended Game 2 of the '90 series.

You might ask why I wouldnt change Game 1 of the 88 Series.  Great baseball moment even though my guys were on the losing end.  And I think with Orel going twice the A's lose anyway.

The Reds had no fucking busines.

Plus, if '88 doesnt happen that kills a whole day for me in a meaningless day in August of '93 or thereabouts when Gibson-Eckersley II happens and Eck gets him on 3 straight strikes.

I would erase Howard Griffith's TD catch and Terrell Davis' 31 yard TD run in the last ten minutes of the third quarter of the 1998 AFC Championship game which would erase the Broncos comeback over The Jets allowing my team to face, and most definitly beat Atlanta in Super Bowl XXXIII.:?

And it also would have kept me from going on 24 hour suicide watch for the next three weeks following.

1993 - Leafs vs Gretzky (LA kings), Semi Finals.

Referee Kerry Sunovabitch Fraser, clearly sees Gretzky clip Doug Gilmour with his stick in overtime, which drew blood, and claims he didn't see anything, and therefore Gretzky doesn't even get a minor penalty. To add insult to injury (literally), Gretzky scores on the next shift to win the game.

I pencil in that Gretzky gets a penalty, Leafs score on the power play, and then we would have faced Montreal in the Stanley Cup final.
Leafs have never been close since.

Also, in the last couple years, Fraser admitted that he had blown the call.

1960 World Series, Casey Stengel does NOT start his best pitcher,
Whitey Ford in the first game. If he had, Ford would have been available for
3 starts, including game 7.
Ford could only watch from the bullpen as Ralph Terry gave up THE homerun to
Mazeroski.
As for rasslin', Andre would have beaten the snot out of Hogan at WM3, instead
of following the script.
