Ox should have been allowed his run in the WWF in 1980. I marked out to him in the Apter mags because they made him look like a bloodthirsty maniac. Now that I have watched a bunch of his matches I can see that the criticisms of him are true to a point- i.e. he is slow and clumsy but shit, so were all the other super heavyweights of the era to a degree.

Ox would have made a great heel to do a program w/Backlund in 1980, was there something else that prevented him from coming here other than Vince Sr. giving his first TV taping the thumbs-down?  And did he ever set foot in a WWWF ring?

While we are on the subject, I know that he is accused of ripping off Stasiak's gimmick/finisher but in my opinion he used it much better (and more often) than Stan the Man. Shit, after Stasiak's last serious run in late 1976 I don't think he EVER landed another heart punch. Even Garea and Chief Jay could avoid it during a match and I never saw another successful one. But big Ox, left-handed, kept on hammering guys and flattening them- and then kept hitting them in the heart while they were laid out!   Ox is ok in my book, great on the mic too- has anyone seen his anti-drunk driving promo for ICW- hilarious!

I would have booked him to hospitalize Arnold Skaaland with the heart punch

and then kill Chief Jay Strongbow.

There is a pic floating around of him being managed by The Grand Wizard. I don't think Ox made it past the one TV taping. I don't think his match or matches ever aired.

Ox also wrestled in the WWWF during the mid to late 1960s. He was billed as the Friendly Ox. Longtime WWWF fans can probably tell you more.

Got a problem w/ Skoaland/Skaaland?  I know people's feelings towards Scarpa, but Arnie?

Tell more if you care.

Nah.  I just seen killing Scarpa and thought it would be a good idea.  Arnie's okay.

Ox was one of the most feared wrestlers in the game at the time.  He was one mean looking due!  I did get to meet him long after he retired.  It was sad because he could not get around due to all his knee injuries.

His heart punch was_lights out!

Pretty sure Zbyszko writes in his book that Baker had a couple of matches that were absolutely horrible and wasn't brought back.  He was supposed to get a run with Backlund so Zbyszko wound up fulfilling those dates instead.  I'm pretty sure it was Baker, just don't hold me to it.
