I remember a bunch of us were playing wiffle ball across the street and I came home between games to get a soda and flipped nitro on right when this match started.

Not nearly as big as Scott Hall, but on Memorial Day, 2001, Lance Storm ran in on RAW and super-kicked Perry Saturn, setting off the "inVasion" angle.

Oh yeah...Big Show and Chris Jericho also had a match for the Hardcore Championship on the same show.

Hulkster vs Bob Orton, 1987.
Superstars of Wrestling.
A rare match with Hulk on free tv.  A rare match that went through a commercial break.  The ropes broke halfway through, which made it even more memorable.

Memorial Day title changes in Memphis

May 29, 1977 in Memphis, TN
Paul Orndorff beat Jerry Lawler to win the Southern Championship

May 29, 1978 in Memphis, TN

May 25, 1981 in Memphis, TN
Kevin Sullivan & Wayne Ferris beat Bill Dundee & Dream Machine to win the Southern Tag Title.

May 30, 1983 in Memphis, TN
The Fabulous Ones beat Bobby Eaton & Duke Myers in a "hair vs. title" match to win the Southern Tag Title.

Bill Dundee beat Jerry Lawler to win the Southern Title

May 28, 1990 in Memphis, TN
Bill Dundee beat John Tatum to win the USWA Southwestern Title

May 29, 1995 in Memphis, TN
Brian Christopher beat Doug Gilbert to win the USWA Title.

Memorial Day was a lousy drawing day in Memphis. Looking at results going back to 1972, attendance was 4,500 tops bottoming out to under a 1,000. Some years they wouldn't have matches that week or they would hold them on Sunday afternoon.
