If you folks will indulge me the courtesy of my being old and going from memory only; my favorite match of all time was actually in my rinkey-dink hometown in Southeast Iowa.  It was the third of four matches on a AWA-WWA crossover spot card and it was between a skinny kid (billed as a rookie) named Don Muraco and some new guy who had been in the AWA maybe a month or two named Nick Bockwinkle, who wasn't yet managed by Bobby Heenan.  This was circa 1972, give or take.

These guys went a shade over 40 minutes in a one fall match (I know because I looked at my watch) and it was a really tight, error-free exhibition with at least half a dozen momentum switches, but it ended with Nick pinning Muraco by pulling the tights, as seen by everybody in the auditorium, save the AWA referee. I know I was drained from screaming as it ended.

I was very young and really didn't appreciate the true level of talent I was seeing, but if asked to pick the best match I ever saw, that obscure and (probably) undocumented match would be it for me.

Flair v Steamboat - 89

Blanchard v Ron Garvin - mid 80's TV match.  I don't know why, they just put on an awesome show.

To my dying day I will hold Vader v. Mark Henry from Fully Loaded 1998 close to my heart. And, no, not in a Wrestlecrap kind of way. Well, maybe...
