So, did Big Show turn again?

Last I saw, he was feuding with ADR.

Heel vs. heel.  He's been attacking Sheamus and Orton too, but everyone hates The Shield.

Don't they still show Wrestlemania at places like Hooters and Buffalo Wild Wings?  If you're hurting for the cash, you'd be better off spending it on a meal and a couple of beers and watching for free.   I did that a few years back for Summerslam because I figured if I'm spending at the time $40 it's gonna be on dinner and wrestling, not just wrestling.

Hooters in Raleigh shows it for free. Best to get there early...and wear a Rock t-shirt so all the girls there think you're cool.

This brings me back to the late 90's/Monday Night Wars era. I had a great apartment right in the downtown core of the city I was living in. Right around the corner of the block I was on there was this "Sportsmen's Club." It was straight out of Goodfella's or Gotti...That type of Sportman's Club. Anyway I used to stop in for a beer every now and again as they all knew I lived around the corner and were cool with me. Anyway they showed all the PPV's...WCW and WWF. LOL they had a illegal satellite feed hooked up so it cost them nothing. They'd charge $5 or $10 at the door, but they told me I could just buy a membership for $15 and get in to watch for free.
I used to go see every PPV during that time, it was awesome.

That is what my son and I do for the UFC PPVs when we have the extra dough,  I was telling my friend she should go to Buffalo Wildwings to watch Wrestlemania.  I could go with just enough for a drink, but I go watch maybe 3 or 4 PPVs a year with my son.  If I do not have enough to fed him and tip the server we don't go.  Sitting there for a few hourse means they can't turn over their tables meaning they make less in tips.

Not too excited about this year's WM.
Cena & Rock was done last year. HHH will defeat Brock, who cares.
Taker will win again. ADR vs Swagger.........same old Swagger, despite the redneck push. Ho-hum.
Don't gve a rat's ass about Ryback & Henry.
I like team Hell No, but this match does nothing for Ziggler's singles push.
Maybe biggie & ziggy win the tag belts but then does ziggy also cash in the MIB ?

I rather see Hell No win the lose them next night against the Shield. Which would start using the freebird rule.

I am kind of looking forward  to Mark Henry vs. Ryback.

I agree.  Just watching the promo for RAW was enough to show me that there's no way in Hades that Punk goes over.

What a throw-away waste of time.  You take the hottest act in the company this side of Punk for the past year and stick them in a match with a supposed future World champion who hasn't won a match in 6 months and some stiff who has never wrestled on TV yet.  This match helps absolutely no one.  They'd all be better off not booked.

Tell that to Dennis Stamp.  And I'm not even sure Dolph kept the trampoline from the Spirit Squad days.

I think a mix eight person tag is in the works with Brodus Clay, Sweet T (formerly Tensai), Cameron and Naomi vs. Cody Rhodes, Damien Sandow, and the Bella Twins. That could be the pre PPV match for WWE.com and the DVD release.

Apart from that one, the only other possibilities would look like a Divas Title match unless they consider the mixed tag enough Divas for one night (it looked like they wanted to have Katlyn against AJ based on Raw) and something with Miz, Wade Barrett, Antonio Cesaro, and maybe Kofi Kingston. The card looks a bit crowded at that point, however.

Current Divas vs. former Divas 10-man match was the plan but it was scrapped when WWE couldn't come to terms with the former Divas.  They "unionized" and tried to negotiate as a group to get the rights to their names, and Vince immediately told them all to go fuck themselves.  It was supposed to be Kelly Kelly, Maria, Maryse, and the Bellas managed by Trish Stratus.  Obviously the Bellas wound up signing their own deal after the WM match fell through, and wound up on WM anyway.  I'm sure the other girls are thrilled.

If that doesn't justify the $70 price tag I don't know what does.

On his official Facebook Page, Paul "Pee Wee Herman" Reubens posted the promotional material for the Undertaker-CM Punk match at Wrestlemania 29 this weekend and wrote, "ONE WEEK FROM RIGHT NOW: WRESTLEMANIA 29!!! See you there!!!!!"

Reubens has not been officially announced for Mania, but has appearance in a surprise cameo at Wrestlemania in the past. Since guest hosting an episode of Raw, Reubens has become very close with the company, even popping up and visiting at developmental tapings.

So, stay tuned.

CM Punk just announced on Twitter that legendary New York City band Living Colour will be playing his "Cult of Personality" theme song live when he enters the ring this Sunday at Wrestlemania. Living Colour is currently on tour and as it turned out, they are playing NYC this week and Wrestlemania fit perfectly into a break in their touring schedule.

Punk used "Cult of Personality" while he was ROH champion and had WWE get the rights to the song when he re-negotiated his new contract in the summer of 2011. The song was meant as a nod to his "Summer of Punk" run in ROH, elements of which were used during his Money in the Bank run.

Living Colour's lead singer, Corey Glover, discussed Punk using the song in an interview last week with Lehigh Valley Live in Pennsylvania, noting, "WWE usually doesn't use outside music. It was a very rare occasion. (C.M. Punk) called our reps to see if he could use the music. It was in the right place and time, that's for sure. It has the bombastic (quality) that (his personality) calls for."

Now, he gets a bombastic ring entrance with one of the best NYC punk rock bands of the last 25 years.

The word around WWE's hotel today was that a second match may be added to the WWE pre-show, possibly something involving all of the talents that aren't yet announced for the show (in the past they've some Lumberjack matches, etc.) so everyone gets a chance to be in front of the massive crowd.

That's a very lucky break.  I was actually thinking about this a couple of weeks ago when I started getting notifications of them playing in NYC.  They have a show on Saturday at Irving Plaza (performing "Vivid" in its entirity and then don't play again until next Thursday in Chicago of all places.

Been catching up on the recent Raw and Smackdown shows, and I'm just wondering if 1) anybody thinks there's any way Cena loses to the Rock and 2) could there be much less interest in Punk/Undertaker even though Punk has been one of the most entertaining people in WWE the past few years and Undertaker and WM ususally means something special?

Not a bad warm up match, and I liked the way Miz put on the second Figure Four

I want to see the Miz interfere in the Rock and Cena match tonight, and lay out Cena, just because he was on the pre-show

Not too shabby a match... Sheild was relentless, and JBL was putting them over big time.

Big Show was pissed that Orton tagged himself in, didn't try to break the pin on orton, then layed both Orton and Sheamus out with the big punch

I liked the opening of Hell No vs Dolph and Big E , and thought it was funny, with a call back to last year, when Dolph stopped and got a kiss from AJ, and then Bryan instantly kicked Dolph for a pin attempt.

Jericho busted open a tiny bit, but beats on Fandango most of the begining of the match

Fandango hits a pretty good leg drop off the top rope... he got some distance on it.

Jericho "tweaks" his knee after lionsault... Fandango gets a small package and the win

Filler match, but not bad.

Jericho also has small, tiny cut under his eye.

I just thought they'd throw them between Main Events... maybe they thought they were losing the crowd after Taker Punk was so hot, and HHH and Brock not so much

Sheamus/Big Show/Orton vs The Shield was bad, Mark Henry vs Ryback was bad, Tag Title match was ok-ish, nothing special, Fandango vs Jericho was decent, World Title match wasn't special ( I guess Swagger will be suspended now ), Punk vs UT would have been better had the table broke and they did more with the urn, Brock vs HHH was good, probably the match of the night, Cena vs Rock was what it was I guess. Not bad, but just seemed 'ok'. It looked like guys were blowing spots and moves all night.

WWE issued the following shortly after the completion of Wrestlemania 29: WrestleMania Shatters Records
WWE® announced tonight that WrestleMania 29 became the highest grossing live event in its history and broke the record for MetLife Stadium’s highest grossing entertainment event.
WWE’s annual pop-culture extravaganza grossed $12.3 million, as 80,676 fans from all 50 states and 34 countries converged on MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ.

Triple H had x-rays done on his arm last night but there were no signs of anything past some muscle bruising. His arm and hand were swollen after the Brock Lesnar bout.
CM Punk's leg was badly banged up from the spot where he leapt off the top rope with the flying elbow on Undertaker, who was on a table outside the ring, only for the table to not budge, much less not break. There were a lot of people backstage after the show who were amazed he didn't slow down and finished the match as he was in a lot of pain when he returned.

The inter-gender tag match was cut before the PPV went on the air as they wanted to give the top three matches as much time as they wanted. I've heard time was cut from the Jack Swagger vs. Alberto Del Rio as well and the company broke from tradition by cutting Lilian Garcia singing "America The Beautiful."

There were no fireworks to open the show due to the light skies and the feeling that the Hurricane Sandy video would be overpowered by the pyro. The company wanted the video to really resonate with those watching as a well to help quietly push their Sandy victim auctions. Kudos to them.

There were a lot of WWE mid-card talents who were down that they never got to go out in front of the crowd or had backstage segments, especially since in years past, the company had always tried to squeeze everyone in. There was also a lot of talk about how silly it was that Antonio Cesaro didn't have a spot on the show given how hard he's worked.

Did anyone expect differently? Perhaps we'll get a rubber match down the line, but Rock will be heading back to Hollywood soon while Cena is staying. It makes sense for the WWE to have Rock give Cena the thumbs up since the crowd split over him has become even more pronounced during the Mania build up. The match itself started too slowly, but then built up nicely. The big problem was they did at least one false finish too many, it hurt the pop for the actual finish.

I liked the card on the whole. That judgment could be clouded due to watching the show with friends and enjoying the get together as much as the PPV, but it was still a fun night.

Apart from the mixed eight person tag, I wonder if anything else got cut and at what point they started falling so badly behind on time. Cena normally has a very elaborate Mania entrance, as did Rock last year. This year they used standard entrances. Maybe that was due to a desire to give things a no nonsense feel or maybe the WWE had no choice but to get them into the ring due to the clock running out. There also were few backstage or interview segments. It felt like some other things landed on the editing room floor.

I thought it came off exactly the way it was suppose to but I was subtly mocking earlier calls for Cena to turn heel @ WM which was hinted @ but realistically was not going to happen

No heel turn = kiss & hug option

Taker vs Punk was the match of the night. I thought the rest was good. Only one I really hated was Jericho vs Fandango not because Jericho did the job. Because Fandango didnt really showed me anything. Other get does a great Alabama Jam. 95% of the match was Jericho. He should never been on Mania.

Should of been Jericho vs Antonio Cesaro

I would give the ppv 7/10

Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter had their entrance cut from Wrestlemania due to timing issues. The two came driving out in a golf cart themed for Swagger's Real American persona.

We'll have to see whether the cart gets added to their entrances going forward.
