Bolo found this one today searching a site with Illinois cities. It was from a newspaper ad. Claw already had Hennig vs Breznikoff for this date but it was the only match listed. So now add this info to the date. December 12, 1974 Lincoln, IL Lincoln HS Gymnasium Maine Event Baron Von Rashcke vs Ivan Putski Larry Hennig vs Boris Breznikoff plus Buddy Wolfe, jim Brunzell & Geoff Portz will appear

Have to double check with him. The September date seems okay but the August one doesn't match the day.

Ron, He just e-mailed me and said the date is definitely Wed., August 28, 1974. Claims he has the newspaper add through some old newspaper files which he subscribes to. Any discrepancy let me know and I'll change my original post.

No discrepancies. He is 100% correct. In the Graham handicap match, Graham had 15 minutes to beat both. That was the stipulation.

That Chitown Rich, he has no faith. He probably thinks the Gagne Sleeper was a choke, too! I would've loved to have seen Flyers vs. Graham. I was surprised to even see this match, seeing as the AWA was pushing Flyers as an underdog team. Wish they had the results. I'm guessing it went the 15 minutes, or even that one of the Flyers pinned him. Graham could've gotten DQed, too.

Book, tell us more about the service you are getting. Is it simiar to newspaperarchive and what is the geographical scope? Feel free to stop in and give us updates. Chitown Rich doesn't need to interpret ...is there a Crusher record book update coming? You should get that 19 post count increased here.

Gang, I got the Springfield stuff from GenealogyBank.com. Springfield, IL was recently added. Pretty similar in scope to NewspaperArchives. Best site, IMHO, is Newspapers.com. Archives still has the most content so far, but Newspapers.com has the ability to clip articles and paste them directly to other applications. I have been working daily on the next Crusher Record Book. I have about 4,500 results including many that cannot be found online. Fortunately, the Wisconsin Historical Society in Madison, WI has the second largest collection of newspapers on microfilm in the country, so a lot of results have come from research there. (Thanks to Loren Olsen, who put me on to this years ago). I've also gone to Libertyville and Waukegan, IL to get results from those cities as well as Round Lake Park in the '50s. I'm going to cram in as much match detail as I can into the current record book. As of today, I have typed in 1949 to 1966 and that's about 70 pages, with only a scattering of articles and photos so far. I'm hoping I can print the next record book on creatspace. If not, I'll try some other options. If those don't work, I can always print and bind it myself. I'd like to have it done by summer either way. I wonder if Davey Lee was Davey Gee on other East Coast Indies. I am pretty sure Mike Kaluha lost his first name for these. He had to play the role of the singularly-named Islander to keep in the traditions of Afa and Sika. Bud Jones and Mike Jones may be the same guy since each only worked once. Possibly an early result for Virgil? Bobby Duncum was on his last big run. I have a record.book going for him, and I am surprised he got his old alignment with Herman Family members, since he wouldn't be featured going forward. I wonder how many of the High Flyers bouts made the air since Brunzell would depart shortly afterward. The Winters vs. Zbyszko bout is probably the one from the Kids Classics releases where the top top broke and they improvised around it very well. Other bouts like Moore vs. Slaughter were part of the Kids Classics tapes as well. I hope there are more of these Tropicana results in other newsletters. Claw's main thread has some of the bouts manifested as they were seen in Minneapolis for the TV broadcasts. My preference is to find the actual date the bouts were taped.
