Forgive me if this card is already in the listings. November 11, 1986 - Manatee Civic Center - Bradenton, FL 1. Scott Williams defeated Hollywood Bobby Jay 2. Big Jim Haley defeated Colonel DeBeers 3. Bugsy McGraw defeated Sheik Adnan El Kaissey by count out 4. Tyree Pride defeated The Ninja 5. Nick Bockwinkel defeated Larry Zbyszko 6. Sgt. Slaughter defeated Boris Zhukov Attendance was noted as "a near capacity crowd of more than 3,000". A return date of December 26, 1986 was billed with a 17 man battle royal for $100,000 on the card. A local indy group under the ICW banner (not the Savoldis) copromoted the show with the AWA. I think this was the group that traded as an over the counter stock for a while.

Debeers losing to "Big Jim Haley" seems suspicious (No idea who he is), unless Haley is black and Debeers got counted out refusing to wrestle him.

Big Jim Haley can be seen at 1:36 of the attached video against Billy Jack Haynes. Haley was working as a jobber in the Florida studio and doesn't look like someone who'd get pushed outside of a low rent indy unless he had a stake. https://youtu.be/5vQugUdosFI

I remember finding this card when researching. The result doesn't surprise me as DeBeers is comfortable putting over all.sorts of talent for the sake of a good show. It probably boosted Haley a notch in being a big fish in a small pond.

I can buy that, although that was pretty much the peak of DeBeers in the AWA and as a character IMO, and he was knee-deep in the Snuka feud at that point. Seems like an odd result in light of that. But who knows? Maybe Snuka no-showed and DeBeers put this guy over in his place.

There is a thread over on Classics that lists the dates for an AWA tour of Florida and the Bahamas when the above card occurred.
According to bunkhouse this was the card for the following night: 11/12/86 Homestead National Gaurd Armory

I wish the results would turn up but the AWA ran at least one show, maybe two to make the trip worth it, around this time in Hawaii. Snuka was there along with a handful of AWA regulars. The undercard included locals who were on the outs with the Polynesian promotion. Given the strong arm techniques used by Lia Maivia and her partners when a guy tried to run indy shows on the islands in 1988, I don't know how this was accomplished politically. Ron, on 05/15/73 I have a result of Billy Robinson beating Jack Bence in Vancouver, BC so it is likely the Stevens bout in LaCrosse was scratched.
