CM Punk will either get a huge push and rise to the occasion by being one of the most exciting World champions in recent memory, or he'll become the next Rey Misterio, Jr.  I'm really, really hoping for the former but given the fact that Punk hasn't gotten ANY push since winning MITB, I fear what kind of reign he'll have.  But at least for the first time in years, something truly unexpected happened on Raw.  That was a great segment.

I swear if JBL beats Punk for the title tonight (which I wouldn't be shocked at), I'll pull an MWTapes all over this board.

Are they in St Louis tonight? I recognize JBL's security as a bunch of Harley's WLW scrubs. (Except Wade Chism the big black dude. He's actually a decent guy outside of rasslin')

What start watching TNA only and shit all over WWE on the board and praise AJ Styles as the saviour of pro wrestling.
Okay, we're holding you to that.:)

They're in Oklahoma of course.  Where else does Jim Ross get humiliated and thrown out of buildings?

3 - Punk wins in 5 seconds, Mickie vs. Jillian, and tag team squash.  A total of less than 6 minutes of total wrestling in an hour and a half, I would estimate.  That's OK, they're setting up a lot of new shit and I'm enjoying it so far.  And we still have what should be 2 longer matches coming up in Jericho vs. Kingston and Punk vs. JBL.

So I guess they put Kane on a box next to Noble to make Jamie look even more of a midget?

Like you said it's pretty enjoyable without the matches tonight. Some good stuff happening. First Raw I've enjoyed for A LONG time.

I have no problem with an occasional show without a lot of matches to set up a new direction.  They've accomplished a ton tonight and it's all been good (assuming they don't ruin it later with JBL).  I love the new faces getting some TV time on the big show.

The first time I heard Cody speak was at the HOF when he and Dustin inducted their father.  Cody was completely out of character and honoring his dad in a tearful  speech and something about him still screamed complete and total asshole.  So what do they do?  Have him debut as a white bread babyface.  The guy's a natural heel and he'll shine now.

I doubt JBL is winning, his back is still fucked up and he's on the verge of being forced into retiring again.

(of course as I write this Cena hits the ring)

Not totally unexpected...I sort of predicted it.  ;)  Logical, in that Raw needed a world title, and they will want to push MITB in future years as being a passport to the gold.  I think everyone who has held the MITB case for more than a month has become champ.

That was the first time since maybe Bischoff's debut that I have yelled out "Holy Shit".  And my favorite Raw moment since the ECW guys turned on WWE back during the invasion angle.

Hell of a show, I totally expected Punk to drop the belt to JBL, glad he didn't.  I'm curious to see where they go.

WTF, when was the last time you saw someone get DQ'd for pulling tights ?
To quote Rossi, I didn't see that coming :)

I thought that was great too.

We all bitch about how dumb the ref's look these days and how they should do stuff like that, so I was happy with it.

If they keep it up, it could actually start to mean something.

Best RAW in quite awhile.  In retrospect the entire CM Punk thing was obvious-but when I watched it, my jaw dropped like everybody else.  Very cool.

So, Jericho now goes after everyone's eyes when he's upset?  Ooh.  How shoot.
