4th of July tends to bring out the redneck in all of us, hence the thread title.  Anyone planning on "blowin' stuff up" or anything cool?

Low key here...usual 4th of July celebration then home to watch the Mexicans down the street fight over warm Tecates and "roman candles" till one gets burned, or so drunk he falls down on top of a lit "blooming iris"

I spend the 4th at the beach house with the wife, kids, and parents. I BBQ every year and this year I think I am doing my favorite, fajitas! My bald head gets sunburned and I have a beer every other year or so. Good times are had by all.

Going to the parade in Chatham NJ where I am from.  We'll attend that, drink a few beers at my friend's house later, and then we have the unenviable task of driving part way down to Corolla NC (the outer banks) where we're going to be staying for a week with my brother and his GF.  I'm looking forward to next week.

FYI-I went to the Yankee game last night with the wife and kids and we had a great time.  Fucking beer is $9.50 each though.  That's insane.

Corolla is real nice, we were supposed to go down to Hatteras this weekend but my sister in law is ready to give birth at any moment and my wife wants to be around just in case. Don't forget your $12 to cross the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel if you are taking 13 south from NJ.

You're exactly the guy I need ask Bingo:  My cousin told me to haul ass down there to get onto the island to avoid the traffic, so we're headed down tomorrow.
I wanted to stay somewhere around Chesapeake but no hotels were available but I got us a room in Suffolk. The directions changed from the US13 through Delaware (back roads) way into the I-95 through Richmond taking 64E etc.....
Would you do the backway tomorrow or I-95?

I would stay with 13 south. No good ever comes out of I-95.

Suffolk seems out of the way for you. There are a bunch of hotels in Chesapeake and I am shocked they have no availability, unless they are doing the minimum stay. So you know, once you get to Chesapeake the rest of your ride is like 1 1/2 - 2 hours or so.

You definately don't want to deal with the Saturday traffic going into the OB.

I will be online for a couple more hours so let me know if you have any questions.

Have a good time.

We spend every 4th of July holiday in Santa Barbara for a few days spending way too much on food and liquor.

Congrats, That is something I'm going to have to satart doing soon as my divorce is final on the 20th of this month. That's all I'm going to do though is date, no more moving in with gf's after only a few months of becoming involved. She can have her place and me mine. I think that's the safest way. Anyway enjoy your date. Do you guys have any plans yet on what you're going to do? That is if you're comfortable talking about it.;):D

Nothing fancy.  A picnic at a Riverfront Park and just a general "get to know you better" deal.  I'm looking forward to it!

My wife just went back to work this week after 5 years of being a stay at home mom. I've had a pretty hectic last couple of weeks, so we are just going to stay at home, fry some fish, drink some beer, and shoot fireworks with the kids.
