The low point of Tony's career was getting shoot punched repeatedly on the indy circuit to get an angle over with a chick.

There's a guy with a Youtube account named "All Out of Bubblegum" that has posted a massive, massive collection of Roddy Piper clips. Not just the big stuff, but tons of localized promos you've probably never seen before. I've been watching a few videos each day and it seems like I'm not making a dent in this library. Watching this stuff has only confirmed my belief that the Roddy of 1984-85 was the best heel in wrestling history.

I love Roddy but sometimes I can only take him in small doses. There is a clip on youtube of him at the tbs studios when the wwf had taken over the timeslot for awhile and he was co hosting the show and he was getting to be too much.

LOL, Trongard was an acquired taste. I'm watching the 5-16-88 edition of Prime Time Wrestling. This features the first hint of the Rougeaus upcoming heel turn. In the little corner inset interview during their squash, they say, "Hey, we hear some booing when we come out to the ring, and we just want everyone to know we love the USA so please don't confuse us with Dino Bravo even though we're both from Montreal!" At the end of the match, they show a little aggressiveness too because they put their finisher (Jacques' flying crotch smash into jobber on Raymond's shoulders) on both opponents....the 2nd one after the bell. Freddie Miller was obviously really happy to be standing with Roddy again!

I watched the 1986 Christmas Prime Time today that is on the WWE Network. Gorilla and Heenan doing their little Christmas bits in between matches always entertains me.

The other night I watch the Swagger v Del Rio match from RAW. First current era WWE match I've watched live in probably a decade. I wasn't really into it. I'm not trying to be an old man about it but it just didn't come across as entertaining.

There isn't a wrestler on the roster who has "it " that will become huge. Our sports channel aired a wwe marathon of specials covering Austin, the rock, the nwo, dx, the Monday night wars and so on. And those were really the last glory years in wrestling. There were a few new stars like randy orton and cena but other than that. It's just blah now , u won't see crazy crowds like that again , or stars that white hot or exciting again. Swagger, del rio, reigns etc don't have the magic.

You forgot to mention the one Sportsnet 360 aired that really let you know just how bad today's product is - the Ric Flair vs Ricky Steamboat Rivalry show.

Watched the 5/23/88 episode of Prime Time last night. This is the first episode with the new set, which they would use all the way to I believe early '91 when Vince hosted the studio audience version of the show. Bobby and Monsoon were fucking great together. The second half of the show was all squash matches from Challenge, except for a quick Bigelow/Bundy match from MSG. Gorilla is needling Bobby the entire show, and he asks Heenan, "so what are your plans with Hercules?" By this point, Herc was pretty much washed up and everyone at home knew it. Monsoon's just fucking with Bobby with this question. Heenan's like, "well, you see, um, we're going to go to Jack Tunney with our demands and percentage of the gate to face Savage for the title......" Monsoon cuts him off, "Brain, are you NUTS? YOU don't dictate to Jack Tunney or the champion, they tell YOU how much of the gate you'll get." Fucking awesome.
