I simply don't understand the Batista push. Not least that he's in his forties and as he's nothing but physique surely can't last that long. But more for the morale perspective - it can't be good for someone like Kingston or Miz who are busting a gut night-in night-out being pushed back down the card by someone brought back and put right at the top without earning it. It seems that they've spent ten months planning for Wrestlemania, and are changing everything with weeks to go. There are logical storylines to play out and which could peak then and they come up with Bryan v Sheamus?

If you watched Batista return, it looked like he was phoning it in - all of the emotion was fake, and it was as if he were just going through the motions. I really believe that this is going to blow up, and fast. My wife watched him and said it looked like he was trying to not hurt himself. I would agree.

And the crowd recognized this. They were amped for his return...until he did return. You could hear crickets by the end of his segment.

If HHH has to wrestle, then how the hell is it against Punk and not Bryan? If Bryan isn't going to win the title, he needs to get revenge on either HHH or HBK to wrap up a storyline arc that's dominated TV for damn near a year. They're going to blow that off and go back to Punk? And I assume Sheamus will come back as a heel that's been bought off by The Authority, so Bryan has to slum against the B team and a guy who hasn't been around for a year. Unbelieavble if this is true.

The only reason to give Batista the belt is the free publicity from the WWE Champion being in a Marvel movie this summer.

But would any of them (or none of them) make you want to commit $60 for 6 months of the Network? I fear that booking like this will be the ultimate end of what we long time fans buy into...WWE saying "fuck the logic...as long as we push Cena to the kids andput enough on the Network to keep older fans interested, what the fuck does it matter what the 'PPV' cards are?"

None of them would make me commit $60 for 6 months of the network. If that lineup of matches is actually true, it's absolute garbage for their biggest show of the year. Like rossi said, though, none of them make any fucking sense whatsoever when you look at what the story-lines are, and have been for the past few months. I think I'd still commit for the first 6 months, just because of the other things that are available - I'd probably opt-out after that if the PPV's were booked illogicality, though. As for Cena, eh, WWE is going to continue to have a rocket tied to Cena's ass because the kids love him, and their parents are buying his merchandise for them. As much as the old cranks on these boards and other boards don't like it, it really is smart business. Those kids are future ticket buyers, and their parents, who may shell out $60 bucks every few months for a ppv for little Johnny to watch his hero wrestle in, will subscribe to the network because it's more cost effective for them, and little Johnny gets to see them all now, and Mom and Dad get to look like hero's to their kids. It's really no different than what they did in the 80's with Hogan. Just the names and times have changed. What they're doing, however, is the same.

I've been following the betting odds this week. Batista has been the favourite to win the Rumble since the odds came out on Wednesday. Bryan has been second favourite... until about an hour ago. He has just gone from a distant second to being a heavy favourite. I've found the odds to be pretty much spot on this close to the start of the PPV.
