The original Sin Cara appeared on the new edition of Mexican wrestling show "Tercera Caída". I watched the show and translated the interview from Spanish to English. The hosts asked him why there is a new Sin Cara wrestling and he responded that he wasn’t sure.

He said that he was still under contract with WWE when they started using the new Sin Cara.

Cara stated that he owns the character of Sin Cara and that perhaps his lawyers would be taking a look into it, since he has proof he owns Sin Cara.

Cara then stated that he doesn’t have anything against the new Sin Cara, Alberto Del Rio or anyone in WWE.

While talking about his run in the company, Cara said that WWE told him he couldn't wrestle the way he did in Mexico. He said that psychologically that had an effect his work since he was limited in what he could do in the ring.

Cara said that he never understood it because they brought him from Mexico knowing the style of wrestling he did, but then told him he couldn't do it in WWE.

He said that led to him not working as hard, gained weight, etc. but now he's once again focused and looking forward to wrestling again in Mexico.

Ok so I'm assuming this is the guy who worked as Mistico doing the complaining?

Bullshit. The only reason Sin Cara wasn't Mistico is because WWE owned the Sin Cara name and didn't own the Mistico name.

It's funny how people can outright lie and never, ever be held accountable for it.

Not sure who  owns the Sin Cara name but the rights to the Mistico name and gimmick belong to CMLL so WWE couldn't have even used that name without striking a deal with CMLL.  In fact another luchador is wrestling as Mistico so Luis Alvirde may be left with no gimmick should he not own the Sin Cara name or does not head back to CMLL>  We may see him in a situation like the original La Parka is in as he now has to wrestle as L.A. Park.

Oh and another thing, there is a precedent for wrestlers owning their gimmick. Vince asked the Road Warriors what name they wanted to go by when they first signed with the WWF. Vince claimed it was because he already had a Warrior and fans would get confused but we all know it was because he wanted to own their name. Vince liked their suggestion of Legion of Doom and only when he tried to trademark the name did he find out they owned that name too. Not saying Sin Cara belongs to Luis, but it would all matter who trademarked it first.

Sin Cara #2 (Hunico) also worked as Mystico, IIRC..

They hotshotted that so they could have an apuesta in Mexico IIRC. Shame as that could have been an excellent feud - Hunico brought the best out of Sin Cara. They should have ended up tagging so that SC Azul could get with it more.

And talk about the Bret Hart break for Hunico. Right man at the right time. Hunico is likely to have a very decent career henceforth, maybe with a big push. Although whither Camacho one neither knows or really cares.

Hunico already seems to be in trouble.  2 weeks after they reboot where Hunico Cara upset Del Rio, Del Rio pretty much squashed Hunico Cara to get the win back in a big way, and now Hunico Cara is in NXT with that character after spending the past few months teaming with Camacho down there.  Doesn't seem like they have huge plans for him at this point.  But Camacho should be gone within a month.

I'm assuming Hunico is being given the Ziggler De-push because Rey Mysterio is back and they're only allowed one masked luchador. But Rey can't go on for ever and then Hunico can be eased back into the limelight.

WWE owns the Sin Cara name in the US. I checked and verified that. Whether it owns the name in Mexico is another matter.
