On February 7, 1964, Pan Am Yankee Clipper flight 101 from London Heathrow lands at New York's Kennedy Airport--and "Beatlemania" arrives. It was the first visit to the United States by the Beatles, a British rock-and-roll quartet that had just scored its first No. 1 U.S. hit six days before with "I Want to Hold Your Hand." At Kennedy, the "Fab Four"--dressed in mod suits and sporting their trademark pudding bowl haircuts--were greeted by 3,000 screaming fans who caused a near riot when the boys stepped off their plane and onto American soil.

There is a special on CBS tomorrow night (Sunday) that has Ed Sullivan footage, as well as having Paul and Ringo play together... I am going to DVR it and watch it when I get home from work Monday morning

Missed it by six months and 9 days. Ironically, if my math is correct (I was a premie), I may have been conceived on the day that The Beatles premiered on the Sullivan Show.

I'm watching but incredibly underwhelmed by the "talent" assembled for this tribute.  Kicking it off with LL Cool J and Maroon 5 was a nice way for the show to be DOA.

Dave Grohl and Jeff Lynne just killed it. That was great.

I didn't know half the performers buf I thought everyone was fantastic except Katy perry.
Annie Lennox still has the pipes but what was with that HIV positive shirt at the end.
Why was Tom hanks in the front row beside McCartney?
Was that a kardashian sister they kept showing?
Was that Sean Lennon beside yoko? He looks so much like John my goodness.
I thought the letterman questions were pointless.
Was nice to see some women from the audience fifty years ago.
Overall I thought the show was excellent and my kids loved it too. Some great family viewing.

The highlight was Joe Walsh, Gary Clark Jr., and Dave Grohl on "My Guitar Gently Weeps".  Wow, just amazing.  What an assembly of talent.

Joe Walsh definitely still has it. Fool On The Hill was tremendous.

Let us know what you think. I watched the entire show and was mesmerized by it.

Thanks for posting, I enjoyed watching it again.  I first heard of Gary Clark, Jr. only about 6 months ago and I immediately started searching out everything I could find on him.  He's my favorite young guitarist.  I hope to see him in concert soon, but right now he's going around the country opening for Kings of Leon, which is a joke because he blows those guys off the stage.

Just getting around to waching this now, Maroon 5's singer was good, but the band didn't do a good job IMO, and am disappointed by Stevie Wonder's version of We Can Work It Out

Jeff Lynne, Joe Walsh and Harrison's kid are killing it on Something

Eric Idle doing his Ruttles character was funny

The video clip on Lennon was cool

The video of Paul and Ringo with Letterman was ok, if only just for the fact that it was the stage for Sullivan's Show, and cool to see Ringo at least understands how cool it was to be back, and a part of the tribute.

The audience member interviews were cool too

Kate Beckensale is stunning

Ed Sheren, who I havent heard about before, was good

Always like to see the Apple Rooftop footage... a poster here posted the whole thing recently, and it was just great. I had never seen it before.

I like how it led into John Mayer and I think maybe Keith Urban doing the song

The Paul video was cool too
