From wrestlinginc.com (which likely stole this from another site):

- Jeff Jarrett made an appearance during New Japan Pro Wrestling's G1 Climax Tournament finals last night to sign a partnership deal between NJPW and Global Force Wrestling. Jarrett met with NJPW chairman Naoki Sugabayashi and took photos earlier in the night. Later that evening, Jarrett joined NJPW's top heel stable, The Bullet Club. After Hiroshiro Tanahashi defeated AJ Styles in a great match, The Bullet Club attacked Tanahashi until Jarrett made the save and cleaned house. Scott D'Amore then opened Jarrett's guitar case and pulled out his guitar, which had "Bullet Club" written on it. Jarrett proceeded to hit Tanahashi over the head with the guitar and then posed with the rest of the Bullet Club to a chorus of boos to end the segment.  Jarrett noted on his Twitter on Friday that he was headed to Tokyo for the G1-Climax and said that there was "great stuff ahead for @GFWWrestling and @njpw1972."

Anymore?  New Japan is hotter now than it has been in 20 years.  They're on fire.  So, yes, I care about it more than I have in ages.

If you have been waiting word on when Jeff Jarrett's Global Force Wrestling will produce their first events, this should make you happy. If you are a fan of New Japan Pro Wrestling, this story should really make you happy.

PWInsider.com has confirmed with multiple sources in the PPV industry that a Global Force Wrestling PPV event is on carriers' schedules for 1/4/15. Of course, 1/4 is the date of what has been the biggest Japanese event of the year for seemingly forever, the annual New Japan Pro Wrestling Tokyo Dome event.

It would appear that Jarrett's company has brokered a deal to bring the Tokyo Dome show to United States PPV for the first time. Sources indicate that the deal and all marketing for the PPV would be branded GFW, not New Japan.

Jarrett, who announced plans to launch GFW the day after Wrestlemania 30, was revealed as a member of the Bullet Club faction in NJPW recently. Jarrett departed TNA in December 2013, although he remains a minority owner in the company.

When reached this afternoon via telephone, Jarrett declined to comment on this story.

If GFW was just the American distribution and promotion arm of NJPW, then they might be on to something.  When they actually sign talent and runs shows on their own, that's when they will run into trouble.

TNA is in bed with Muta's promotion, so fifth or sixth best promotion in Japan might be accurate.

I wonder if he needs to.  He could just use NJPW wrestlers once per month or so.  Is it feasible for Jarrett to sign with e.g. RoH as well?  Effectively act as a sort of modern NWA, an overall umbrella sanction of different franchises?

ROH is reportedly actually doing really well right now so I doubt they would be interested, but ROH and NJPW already have a working agreement so that could open a door for GFW in some capacity. But I see no reason why ROH would ever "join" the GFW umbrella.  GFW needs ROH for a foothold to American talent more than the other way around.

pwinsider.com

As PWInsider.com broke, the first-ever production from Global Force Wrestling will be a 1/4/15 PPV from New Japan Pro Wrestling's WrestleKingdom event at the Tokyo Dome in Japan.

Internally, the PPV is now being listed internally by PPV providers as "GFW presents New Japan's WrestleKingdom."

The PPV will air live from Japan with a replay later on 1/4 before going into regular replay rotation.
