Ought to work better than the regular Survivor matchups though.  Does anyone really care who wins a 10 man tag match?  It goes nowhere, it doesn't really blow off a feud, all it does, if anything, is move a feud along.

I have no faith in them to not fuck this up right now.

Perfect time for Backlund to be champ again.

It's terrible that Rollins is out for awhile, but I am very excited at the idea of a tournament. Ever since I was a kid WrestleMania 4 was always one of my favorite shows even though it has always gotten poor reviews. It's not the same now, but a tournament could bring a level of intrigue to the show that it would have been missing as just another show. Everybody always says Vince hates tournaments, but with the ppv model dead and the majority of fans watching on the network, not advertising an entire card should not be as critical to the success of a show as in the past.

My guess is that Reigns wins the Tournament and then is revealed to be a new member of The Authority. This keeps the belt on a heel and allows Rollins to make his return as a face.

A Sole Survivor, multiple man elimination match pays homage to the tradition of the event as well as evolves into something different in that no teams are comprised, just a chance to be champ without necessarily eliminating potential contenders directly, and thus saving some matchups while creating rivalries coming out of it as well.

Roman Reigns
Dean Ambrose
Kevin Owens
Sheamus
Alberto Del Rio?
Cesaro?
King Barrett
Ryback

And what of these mooks:

Brock Lesnar-without putting the belt on him under what scenario and to whom would he lose a match-final match or not?
John Cena-no please no
The Miz-just lol
Dolph Ziggler?
The Big Slow?

Or maybe a complete surprise?

Neville

Or how about this scenario

Triple H - enters himself in the tournament at the request of Seth rollins to help maintain the "integrity" of the championship.

I personally like tournaments if they're well-booked and the matches get time, but it sucks that this injury will destroy the traditional elimination tag matches this year since they have to switch formats now.

Yep, Survivor Series '98, which was a pretty good show.

Apparently this is how Vince wants the Tournament brackets to look like:

One name here has gone unsaid and yes, it probably wouldn't happen but who wouldn't shit themselves if CM Punk was called by Vince.
