Been watching a lot of SMW lately and hadn't realized how bad of a promo Robert Gibson was. He mumbled terribly and always said the same stuff. Ricky Morton really carried their interviews. Any other teams you guys can think of like this?

Hawk always seemed way better than Animal, and Michaels always seemed better than Jannetty. Animal & Jannetty weren't bad, just Hawk and Michaels seemed way better.

Booker T was so much better than Stevie Ray in every way, including on the mic. Which is why it's itonic that Stevie Ray became the WCW commentator, you fruit booties. I honestly can't remember thinking Michaels was better than Jannetty until after the split. Michaels flipped a switch and became a charisma machine, and Jannetty never evolved. But before that they seemed about equal. Unlike the RnR Express, where Gibson always seemed far inferior from the beginning. At the beginning Neidhart was supposed to be the charisma guy with the interesting look, and Bret was seen as a pretty bland technical wrestler. But Neidhart showed he was pretty limited. When they first arrived in the WWF, Neidhart and Jimmy were splitting the promos about 50-50 and Bret said almost nothing and was horrible at even that. Neidhart was going really stereotypical '70s promos, kinda shouting and saying "daddy" and then had the trademark cackle at the end. After a year or two, Jimmy was handling the promos almost entirely, Neidhart would get a couple lines and the laugh, and Bret would continue to stare blankly behind the shades. He was clearly uncomfortable with public speaking, then developed into being somewhat competent on the mic in the early '90s, and then by '97 I just thought he was phenomenal as far as "real" promos went as opposed to wrestling hype, although I know a lot of people unfairly say that he was never good. For the heel version of Jack &Jerry Brisco.....Jerry blew Jack away. Jerry had a ball with the heel promos. Jack tried but Jerry was way smarmier and felt like a natural ass.
