I'd probably just re-shuffle four of the matches that were already listed, yet the fifth one to add would be the WrestleMania VIII WWF title match against Randy Savage. Very good wrestling for a lively, hot, feud. The ending was fun, too, as Flair smooches Elizabeth and she slaps him like crazy! Flair always seemed to have a weird appreciation of Liz.

Flair vs. Sting COTC Flair vs. Steamboat COTC Flair vs. Edge TLC Flair vs. Big Show in WWECW (For some reason it just sticks out to me because Flair was able to do ECW just as well as anyone did ECW during their prime, etc.) Flair/Sting vs. Great Muta/Terry Funk Thunderdome (Just a fond childhood memory of watching this on tape many times. I know the match had plenty of flaws.) Last edited on Mon Jul 11th, 2016 09:57 pm by martini ____________________ Shaken, but not stirred. |

1.ted dibiase - midsouth bloodbath 2.kerry von erich title change 3.harley race starcade 4.steamboat 89 i think, watched it on tbs and was totally blown away after hardly wait ching wrestling for 5 years 5. The one where he chops his opponent a lot, then gets walloped and faceplants in the mat but later gets whipped to turnbuckle and flips up outside of the ring and runs to next post to climb up and splash opponent but his opponent catches him before he leaps and slams him in center ring

Anyone here a fan from Mid-Atlantic in the 70s/80s that went to the matches? Flair has often said in interviews that his best matches were with Steamboat, but no one will ever get to see them because they were on house shows. Any truth to this?

The one where he's walking normally, then suddenly pitches face-first into the mat. The one where he's thrown into the corner and flips himself upside down into the turnbuckles. The one where lets his opponent yank his tights down, then walks around with his ass hanging out. The one where he steals Buddy Rogers' entrance. The one where he yells "Whooooooooooo."

All of Flair's matches are exactly the same, except for the top rope flip spot. If he's a babyface, then he hits the move, if not, he gets slammed.

vs Vader @ Starrcade 93 vs Steamboat @ Boogie Jam vs Terry Funk "I Quit" vs Barry Windham (WWW from 87, match goes the entire show) vs Mr. Perfect (Loser leaves town from Raw) I also enjoyed his matches vs. Martel, Steamboat & Tenryu from AJPW. I do agree w/ Freebird that a lot of Flair matches are the same but I still really enjoy watching Flair. All of the Steamboat matches are good even the short one from WWW in 94 but the one from Boogie Jam stood out as a little different then the rest but still really good. I saw these just in 1977 alone: 07/12 Columbia, SC Ric Flair beat Ricky Steamboat 07/19 Columbia, SC Ricky Steamboat beat Ric Flair 08/09 Columbia, SC Ric Flair beat Ricky Steamboat 09/20 Columbia, SC Ricky Steamboat beat Ric Flair by DQ 09/27 Columbia, SC Ric Flair beat Ricky Steamboat They had great chemistry together. Steamboat was the up-and-comer with Flair being the veteran although Ric only had him in experience by a few years.
