That's too bad. As they say, he was a good hand. He was in one of the two bloodiest matches I've ever seen in person at MSG. My buddies and I actually thought he was seriously injured when he must of went too deep on a blade job against Blackjack Mulligan. Gore everywhere. The other match btw was Manny Soto spilling quarts against Don Leo Jonathan in 1973.

RIP Steve Travis

I really enjoyed his curtain-jerker matches with the likes of Charlie Fulton, Johnny Rodz, and Tony Garea. When I got into tape trading big in the late ‘90s, I saw so many of these matches and often felt they were the best thing on the show. R.I.P.

RIP to a solid worker!

I think he was one of the guys who were in the running to be another Valiant brother....correct me if I'm wrong.

yep, he was. Read an interview with him last night where he said he was supposed to be a young Valiant brother, to fill in when Jimmy was out with hepatitis IIRC. He said he spent $500 dying his hair blond, buying brightly colored gear then got to the WWF and they said "We're bringing Jimmy back" so he never actually got to do that..
