I didn't even know he was there to be gone, but apparently he's been under contract for the last two years, although he has done very little... the first Mae Young Classic plus a couple of other appearances.

It's amazing how many times JR has let Vince chew him up and spit him out. He's been released just in time to find that there are no vacancies for announcers in the brave new world of wrestling we might be heading into.

He could always go back to AXS TV or will simply join AEW

They already have their announce teams sorted now. No need for Good Ol JR with his limited knowledge of the current project. His release comes precisely because there is nowhere for him to go.

I thought JR in AEW was a done deal and assumed that the release was due to him moving there.

There is a thread about JR and Jericho to AEW on this board.

My bad then. JR is a horrible announcer in 2019, though.

Even if he didn't announce, he could make a comfortable living just doing wrestling shows and autograph signings...

Now that Bruce is back with WWE, Conrad is hooking up with  JR to do a new podcast. It was mentioned on his podcast with Schiavone.

Both are affiliated with AEW.  Conrad was the host of their rallies.

I look forward to hearing many tales of Vince farting.

Jim Ross has released this statement:

"Sad to see how some are looking for "dirt" as to why I will no longer be with WWE. WWE and I are parting ways with no animosity.

As I said on my podcast on Westwood One, I can't thank Vince McMahon enough for how he looked over Jan and me for the last 25+ years. I will be forever grateful.

I look forward to the next chapter of my life.  Working on our next book with Paul O'Brien. (You can still order SLOBBERKNOCKER on Amazon now). And join me at Gotham Comedy Club in NYC April 6th. Can't wait to see all of you great fans there. Visit http://www.GothamComedyClub.com for more info."

I never personally cared for him, and cared even less after meeting him.

He's a weak-willed, brown-nosing cretin. If Vince McMahon punched Jim Ross in the face, JR would apologize to Vince for hurting his hand.
