Here's my review at SlamWrestling.net: https://slamwrestling.net/index.php/2021/04/18/ae-stone-cold-biography-same-old-same-old/ What did you guys think? A&E totally seemed to cede editorial control to WWE in exchange for drawing wrestling fans to a station that those same fans haven't thought about in years and years. It broke zero new ground, and not one person interviewed was a surprise, except maybe his high school football coach if only because it was slightly outside the box thinking ... and he got one soundbite.

Thought it was very well done but obviously very WWE-centric. One line on USWA, one line on the Hollywood Blondes, 1 line on ECW. Then maybe you got 2 lines on The Ringmaster and it was on to his rise to stardom and downfall. That’s fine, but just be aware of what the focus is. I think some of the personal stuff was great. There’s no need ground broken professionally, but there were some powerful personal stories like Austin breaking down and crying after hearing his daughter had developed an English accent after his ex moved her to London. You never hear about the personal side of Austin, and there’s some tears in this one.

I didn't even know he had a daughter to be honest. Just looking it up, it looks like he has two daughters with Lady Blossom (Jeannie Clarke), and they would be around 25 and 29 years old. Unreal. Where does time go? Last edited on Mon Apr 19th, 2021 05:12 am by Blazer ____________________ "Well, maybe I like the nightlife just a little bit more than I like the damn gym, jack! Looking up some pics of Jeanie, she still looks good. She hasn't gone to hell by any means. One other random comment on this rabbit hole of a Google search, Austin's current wife looks about as normal as any suburban hot soccer mom could look. She's blonde, but not all made-up...nice looking chick, but not quite in the Debra/Lady Blossom mold.

I thought the Austin show was alright. Nothing groundbreaking, but I didn't expect it to be. The show afterward, where they look for memorabilia, was just ok. Too much background on the wrestler themselves (none of which would be new to us here), and not enough on the memorabilia. I wanted to know how these guys accumulated so much and especially for certain unique items. I think this show could have been SO MUCH better.

Like most of these shows, you have to wonder how much is worked and what's been discussed with these collectors ahead of time. Also, they never showed how they tracked down these "rare items", they just showed up at people's houses who had them. WWE's archivist keeps detailed records on who has what, like the CIA? Does anyone know any of these collectors or have had interactions with them? Certainly if they accumulated so much stuff to have mini-museums in their homes, at least a few must be known to the IWC.

I didn't know these specific guys, but they went to Chris Owens' place, who is the huge Andre the Giant fan. They sent The Big Show there (in retrospect, that one might not see the light of day now!). Another friend has helped with Paul Bearer stuff. I'd love to see Stephanie try to make sense of the sheer goodness of Tom Burke's place, when she scolds him for not having lockets of Charlotte Flair's hair or something recent.

Chris always had good Andre stuff. He used to introduce a lot of rarer video of his to the trade scene.

Jim Ross is showing up in more stuff since leaving than the last few years that he was still there. Christian is in the new Edge documentary (one of the 6 million they've done on him in the past year). Once the interviews are in the can, they use them. And on "Miz & Mrs." they built entire show around Zack Ryder's action figure obsession and heavily plugged his podcast, airing months after he was released. Maybe they've just gotten that lazy with editing, but I think they just don't care anymore.
