This one was much better than the Austin one.  The first hour was pre-WWF so there's really some good early stuff about L.A. and Portland.  There's obviously lots left on the cutting room floor because he had such a long career and most of the focus had to be on the Rock 'n' Wrestling Connection, but I really enjoyed this and his wife and kids are interviewed extensively.

I thought it was actually excellent. I really enjoyed it. Maybe I had low expectations of the same regurgitated bullshit. This was a very good production.

Yeah this was really good.  A lot of that old footage (pre-WWF) I don't think I have ever seen before.

Piper's angle with Guerrero, when he promised to play the Mexican National Anthem on the pipes and instead played La Cucaracha, was this a one and done on a house show or did it make TV? Does any footage of this exist?

Has anyone seen Roddy's last interview. A train wreck. Does it talk about his last days? What does his wife say? How does it cover his youth? Roddy told a few fairy tales in his time.

If you're referring to the Rich Eisen interview, yes it's covered.  There are extensive interviews with his wife and kids and lots of good stuff on his early days.  They mostly cut through the BS.

I started laughing during the show when Hogan complains that Roddy would not lie down and do whats best for business. Really? Hogan is such a..

Hogan did not like the finish of wrestlemania. He thought it should have ended with Roddy being pinned but Roddy wouldn't agree to it. Any of this sound familiar?

Shit, what was I watching the other night that talked about the WM finish?  I can't remember, but it had a quick sound clip from Patterson who wasn't sure if Orndorff was going to agree to the finish, and he was relieved that Paul did agree to it.

If you ask me, the finish to WM1 was perfect.  I mean, that entire match was set up for the Orndorff face turn.  Piper didn't need to be pinned clean.  Everyone kept their heat.  Couldn't have booked it any better.

As an aside, Muhammad Ali was out of his frigging mind by that point.  I just rewatched it recently, and he's up on the apron for half the match trying to get involved, and you can see Patterson (who was the ref in the ring) going over to tell him to get down.  Finally, about 2/3 of the way through the match, you can see one of the suits from the back come down the aisle and tell Ali to stay on the floor and knock it off.  Patterson had his hands full.
